“10 minutes of your time can make both funders, and local as well as international collaborators find you – instead of them choosing someone else.”
KI RIMS is not just another admin system but a system with a purpose to collect, improve and make the information about KI's research available.
It gathers data on publications and research grants, and researchers can then use the compiled information to, for example, generate their CV and publication list.
In this episode we discuss why you should take ten minutes to make sure your profile page mirrors you and the research you do. We hear Rose-Marie Karlsson, Grants Office, Johan Lundström, Professor of psychology, Catharina Rehn, Product manager and Katarina Amcoff at the University Library – all four at Karolinska Institutet.
A special thank you to Caroline Myrberg and Malin Essén, at KIB, for background information.

In this episode we take a closer look at open science, why it matters, and how it can help us meet some of the major challenges facing research today. With growing concerns about research funding, especially recent cuts in the US that may affect core scientific infrastructure, the need for openness, collaboration, and resilient research practices has never been greater.
Joining this conversation are Lina Waltin, librarian at Karolinska Institutet University Library, Patrik Magnusson, senior researcher and the chair of the Open Science Working Group at Karolinska Institutet and also the director of the Swedish Twin Registry and Lars Nordesjö, the head of publication infrastructure and media at KTH library.
Together, they explore what open science means in practice, its benefits, the challenges it brings, and what the future might hold.
Special thanks also to Erik Åkesson Kågedal, librarian at Karolinska Institutet University Library for his help in providing background information for this section.

KI Professor Anna Mia Ekström joins the KIB podcast for a conversation about the Face of AIDS Film Archive and the global HIV epidemic.
"One thing that struck me when I recently went through clips from the archive is the amazing commitment of the activists," says Anna Mia, "it was young people and people living with HIV, but also mothers, researchers, doctors, Nobel laureates, monks – everyone was involved in the fight against the virus in the 80s and 90s, they really made their voices heard. We don't see that today, it's silent – and we know that silence kills."
