
In 2004, life as we know it changed. Facebook connected us to our besties, family, celebrities, world events, and businesses of many ventures. From there, our world changed even more in 2010 when Instagram was introduced, followed by the launch of Snapchat in 2011.
Filters were introduced to us on Instagram for editing your pictures, but it wasn't until Snapchat when we were able to live in the moment, filter ourselves. Something so seemingly harmless had significantly impacted mental health, especially in young teens, especially when they introduced hundreds of beauty filters. These filters can change our face shape, decrease our pores, slim our faces, eye colour, thicken our lips and give us that overall celebrity look.
