Faced with a lack of opportunity in his island hometown, Gab traveled to Manila to pursue art. PJ Hernandez thought he was going to be an academic all his life. Pero sa labas lang ng kanyang classroom, nakatambad ang realidad ng kahirapan. Wala sa plano ni MK Bertulfo na maagang magkaroon ng pamilya. But when she met her husband, she knew it was the right time. Nagdesisyon siyang mag-work from home, at dito, she flourished! Kaya she decided to share her skills and knowledge to other women na kagaya niya: full-time mothers who are also working on their careers. This is how her online community, FHMoms or Filipina Home-based Moms, started.

Sam has a long resume—from being a member of a student org advocating for indigenous peoples’ rights, to being part of the Ten Outstanding Boy Scouts of the Philippines Association, to being an intern at the Senate… at marami pang iba! All because he wanted to help build the nation. But he learned that to leave an impact, he had to focus. Today he works on a very real issue his hometown faces: rising teen pregnancy rates.

Nekka came across a K-drama with a female lawyer na nagtatanggol sa mga naaaping kababaihan. And that resonated with her because she believes in empowering women. She’s been working with the wives of trisikad drivers who had lost their income during the pandemic. The initiative, “Katilingban sa Mauswagong Kababaihan” or “Komunidad ng Mga Mauunlad na Kababaihan”, teaches them to be financially independent and protect themselves against domestic violence.

As a teen, kumalap si Richelle ng donations sa Facebook nang napansin niyang nangangailangan ng school supplies ang ilang mga bata sa kanilang komunidad. From this small effort, she continued to help children in need. Ngayon, meron na rin siyang Sowing Legacy Home—isang tahanang nagkukupkop sa mga kabataang kailangan ng financial support at mga taong maituturing nilang pamilya. It’s also through this advocacy that she met her husband and their foster baby.
