Episode 39: John 16:5-17:26 - The Holy Spirit

Hey friends! Today we’re jumping back into the Upper Room with Jesus and His disciples. Jesus had already washed their feet and shared lots of amazing things, but He wasn’t done yet! He had one more super important promise to make: He was sending someone very special — the Holy Spirit!

Jesus explained that soon, He would go to be with the Father, but He wouldn’t leave His friends alone. The Holy Spirit would come to help them! He would show the world what’s true about sin, and how through Jesus, we can be made clean and whole again. The Spirit would guide the disciples (and us!) into all truth, and always point us back to Jesus and the Father.

Even though the disciples felt confused and maybe even a little sad, Jesus promised that their sorrow would turn into joy. They just had to trust Him — because He knew exactly what they needed!

So, grab your Bible and let’s explore how the Holy Spirit is our faithful guide, our helper, and a forever friend sent by Jesus Himself!

Podcast Questions:

  1. What were the disciples beginning to understand that made them sad?

  2. Jesus reassures the disciples by telling them he has overcome what?

  3. What does Jesus do after he reassures the disciples?

Remember, you can submit your answers here, for a chance to win a prize!
