Your Nightly Prayer 🙏🏾 Matthew 5:9
With all lowliness and meekness, with longsuffering, forbearing one another in love; -Ephesians 4:2
DEVOTION
Based on Ephesians 4
Love isn't just a feeling—it's a choice to bear with one another’s imperfections. Paul paints a picture of a Christian community marked by humility, gentleness, and incredible patience. "Forbearing" means we carry each other's weaknesses rather than exposing them.
It’s choosing to see past the irritation to the image of God in that difficult person. This isn't doormat Christianity but strength under control. When we're humble enough to admit our own flaws, gentle enough to handle others’ hearts with care, and patient enough to let love do its slow work, we create space for transformation. This is how the body of Christ becomes beautiful.
A.C.T.S. REFLECTION
ADORATION: Lord, You are infinitely patient and gentle with Your children. Your meekness isn’t weakness but perfect strength wrapped in love. You bear with us through every failure.
CONFESSION: I confess my impatience with others’ faults while expecting grace for my own. I’ve been harsh when I should have been gentle, proud when I should have been humble.
THANKSGIVING: Thank You for bearing with me daily, for Your gentleness that doesn’t crush my bruised heart, and for Your love that covers my countless failures.
SUPPLICATION: Help me extend the same patience You show me. Give me a gentle spirit that builds up rather than tears down. Teach me to love others the way You love me—unconditionally and consistently.
PRAYER
“Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God.”
MATTHEW 5:9
Dear Heavenly Father, You are the ultimate peacemaker. When we were Your enemies, You called us friends and children united under Your redemptive work. Your aim is to bridge gaps - between You and us, us and each other, and within ourselves. As Your children, I pray we would all emulate Your character by being peacemakers. As we are transformed by Your grace and love, may we continually extend the same to others. In Jesus’ name, Amen. 🙏🏾
