Jade Talks Travel

Jade Talks Travel is the go-to podcast about travelling independently, to off the beaten track destinations. As a travel expert (worked many jobs in the travel industry and travelled to almost 60 countries) I share stories from the road and practical tips on how to make travel accessible to all. I also interview other experts in their field.
On my website, you can book virtually any aspect of your trip.
My life has inadvertently been filled with travel. At 11 years old, my mum took me backpacking for a year through Asia and Europe. This ignited in me the idea that travel was life. I’ve since explored 55+ countries (so far) and managed travel agents, been a tour guide, worked on a cruise ship, worked in car rentals, taught travel and tourism, taught English in Japan, assisted iconic tourism businesses in New Zealand to sell more online and am now a freelance writer, podcaster and photographer.

So the aim of my travel podcast is to make travel more accessible by sharing years of knowledge from within the travel industry and as a traveller, lessons from the road, and I also interview travel industry experts with the ultimate aim of inspiring everyone who listens to get out there to travel and see the world. For those interested in working in the travel industry I also dedicate episodes on how to get into specific travel related jobs.

Travel isn’t just about ticking boxes and getting likes on Instagram. It’s learning about the world, seeing how other cultures do stuff and passing that knowledge on back home. It reduces material desires, removes prejudices, and increases tolerance. Most importantly, travel changes people and it's fun!

The easiest way to change the world, is for everyone to experience everything the world has to offer. But the more people travel, the more they see what the world is really like.

On that note, I’ve just released my twentieth episode and I still have plenty more exciting episodes to come including (but not limited to):

>Where’s the best place to spend Christmas (besides home)
>Packing up the family and moving to Fiji (I speak to a friend who did it)
>Working on a cruise ship
> Eco and sustainable tourism
> Festivals of Japan
> Long term travel - turning a dream into reality
> volunteer travel (in Africa)
> Working holiday visas

Of course there’s plenty of entertaining stories, many of which proved to be important lessons in life. If you travel, send me a postcard (head to my website) and I’ll read it out on air. Make sure you subscribe so you don’t miss out on future episodes.

Trans Siberian Railway
Jade Talks Travel

Trans Siberian Railway
In this episode, head to Russia and join The Trans-Siberian Railway or Trans-Mongolian Railway. It’s the kind of trip that many traveller’s talk about doing, but few do. I share my experiences travelling along the Trans-Mongolian Railway, buying ripe bananas in Siberia, sleeping in a Mongolian Yurt, and what meals to cook when you only have access to hot water. You don’t have to do a tour to experience Russia and the Trans-Mongolian Railway, anyone can do it independently and tick off, this incredible journey from your bucket-list.
Want to book the cheapest flights including multi-city itineraries? Head to my website >> https://jadejackson.com.au/book-flights-hotel/
I recommend purchasing the Lonely Planet Guidebook for the Trans-Siberian Railway. It has all the information you need to independantly complete the trip.(affiliate link, each purchase helps support this podcast)
To book rail fares in Russia and check the timetables (without using an agent, plus you can also book other rail tickets in Russia) use this site.
If you prefer to use a UK based agent to book train sectors (which charges a commission) and can arrange e-tickets or ticket collection in Moscow, click here.
To book a private rail journey on the Trans Siberian or Trans Mongolian Railway check here.
Lastly, if you prefer to book with the Trans-Siberian Specialist Travel Agent that I used, (based in Australia) who can arrange all aspects of your journey, click here..
If you wish to book your own accommodation in Russia, I recommend using Agoda.
If you love the content I provide, then consider joining up to Patreon for more exclusive and ad-free content, or head to my shop for a print of my incredible travel photos.
Thank you so much for listening to Travelosphy. It gets lonely being a podcaster so please say Hi!
