TRANSITIONING FROM TOXIC TO HEALTHY SPACES

A transition is never easy. It can be a lot moving from one thing you're used to, to another whole new thing entirely. It can be hard moving from "your norm" to "the unknown", and I get it. On today's episode, I'm joined with my beautiful guest, Mercy Godwin, to discuss what it is like being in a toxic space (whether it's friendships or relationships, etc.) and how to transition from that to a healthy space, where you're your best self and thriving.

Aren't you tired of the ups and downs? Are you so accustomed to chaos and instability in your friendships and relationships that you don't know what "healthy" looks like? Want to live life differently and experience a kind of glow that only comes from within when you are at peace in your friendships and relationships? Well, this episode is for you! Listen, share, and we'd love to hear your feedback. Check out the podcast on IG!

P.S. Healthy friendships and relationships are anything but boring! There! I said it!

TOXIC & TRANSACTIONAL RELATIONSHIPS/EXPECTATIONS IN A RELATIONSHIP (featuring Laura, Hermit, Kachi, and Onyinye)

Men want sex and women want money. Wanting something isn't bad but in a case where there's a relationship involved, wanting something out of selfish reason is borderline toxic. Transactional relationships are common in our times today. Men are willingly to give something in exchange for what they want and women would offer what they can to get money. It's like a Trade By Barter situation in relationship which has no substantial value. Narcissists tend to exist in these types of relationships because they are only looking out for themselves and what they can get.

The big question is: What happens when there's nothing to offer anymore?

In another light, what is the relation between transactional relationships and having expectations when in a relationship. Find out in today's episode!

This episode features a few friends of mine--Laura, Hermit, Kachi, and Onyinye.

Enjoy!

Unpopular Opinion: WHY MEN SHOULD GET BIRTH CONTROL PILLS

On this week's episode, we're talking about an unpopular opinion in the times we live in. Women have several birth control measures including 'the pill', but men don't. My question is WHY? Should men have the option of the pill as a birth control measure? Do you agree? Do you disagree? I'm joined by my wonderful guest and friend, Collins Ndubuisi, aka Wire, to discuss what birth control pills for men would be like in today's world. After all, a man can get one woman pregnant and while she is pregnant for the nine-month period, the man can decide to get several other women pregnant in that period. And women are the ones told to get birth control?! That's crazy to me!

What do you think? And what could be the possible implications of men having the option of the pill while in relationships and marriages?

DISCLAIMER: Neither the host, Jacqueline, or the guest on this episode, Collins Ndubuisi, are medical practitioners or specialists. This episode isn't for the purpose of giving advice on this subject. For more information on birth control, its uses and effects, please consult with your medical doctor or a specialist.

Innocent Actions Of Women That Men Take As Flirting || DISCUSSIONS
Men can sometimes get ahead of themselves and misinterpret a woman's actions for flirting. She smiled at you and now you think she wants you to walk her down the aisle. She did a nice gesture and now you want her to meet your mother.😂 You people need to be calming down.🤣 She complimented you doesn't mean she's into you or she's flirting with you. While I'm not generalizing or marginalizing men, I think men need to understand better so you don't think there's green light when the bulb💡 is off. Ladies, what experiences have you had with men misinterpreting your actions for flirting?🙃 Hit the play button and listen to myself and my guest, TRACEY ANYANWU, discuss on "INNOCENT ACTIONS OF WOMEN THAT MEN TAKE AS FLIRTING". Listen, share, and I'll love to hear your feedback in the voice message section.❤💜 Check out The JacquieTalks Podcast on IG and Twitter!!!

Comparison: The Thief Of Joy || DISCUSSIONS
We've all been there. We've all done that. Show me one person who doesn't have an experience with comparison and I'll show you someone with six eyes. For real though, we've all had an encounter where we either compared ourselves to others or compared one person to another. But why compare though? When Theodore Roosevelt said "Comparison is the thief of joy", he wasn't joking. It has made people to feel inferior or superior to others and neither is healthy. Tune in to today's podcast episode where professional makeup artist, IFEOMA IYIACHA and I discuss on the topic "COMPARISON: THE THIEF OF JOY." Listen, share, and I'll love to hear your feedback in the voice message section.❤💜 Check out The JacquieTalks Podcast on IG and Twitter!!!

Building Castles In The Air || DISCUSSIONS
We have ambitions and dreams; and we all envision our future and how it'd be from time to time - how the garage will be filled with luxury cars ranging from Lamborghinis to Bentleys, and more than twelve figures in the bank account. Sounds cool, right? But then, are you building castles in the air? Are those dreams and aspirations you have simply a projection of you not cutting your coat according to your size? Or do you believe it's just you dreaming big?😏 Listen to this episode and I'd love to hear your feedback! Supporting One's Dreams & Businesses || DISCUSSIONS
We all have dreams and I’m sure some of us here also have businesses or business ideas. Regardless of whether it’s a dream or business, as humans, we thrive with support from others. This support can come from family or friends and can be financial or moral. Unfortunately, this support isn’t gotten always and this can deter someone in chasing his or her dreams, especially if the person is in one way or another dependent. It can also cause bad blood and resentment. What happens to those who do not support your dream or business? Join me and our guest today, MELODY AMAIZU, as we discuss on today’s topic! Respect || STEREOTYPES
We often hear "Respect is reciprocal", "Respect is earned and not demanded". But is this actually practiced in our society? Or do you also think the opinions, thoughts, feelings, knowledge, standards, values and beliefs of the younger ones and subordinates are looked down on by the older ones or superiors simply because the former is not as exposed or experienced as the latter? Have you ever been told the words "You must/should respect me!!!" by someone? Say something in the voice message section. Share too!!!😊

Nollywood Mentality || STEREOTYPES
Nollywood (Nigerian movie industry) has had us watching movies where one person looked down on or turned down another because of status or didn't help when it was needed. Then the storyline will go on to show how the person who got rejected becomes well-to-do in future and then whoever rejected or looked down on him, comes back apologizing and asking for mercy but doesn't get it. It's all entertainment with a good lesson but do those stories really play out all the time in reality the way movies tell them? Or are you among those who in reality believe someone who didn't do good to or for you will suffer in life and you go about hoping bad things happen to them? Listen, share and I'd love to hear feedback! Let's relate in the voice message section!😊

Anklets and Waist Beads || STEREOTYPES
A woman who wears anklets or waist beads or both is deemed a certain way by society. The stereotype with this means the woman is seen as "loose", "promiscuous", "diabolical" or "uncultured". Truthfully, some women wear these ornaments to adorn themselves, to make fashion statements or to uphold cultural heritage. But people generally discriminate against these ornaments and some men don't want have anything to do with women who wear them. Do you think there are deeper meanings to wearing them? Do you think women should be allowed to wear whatever it is they like? Do you prefer any of the ornaments to the other or do you like both? Listen, Share and I'd love to hear your feedback.

A Man's Emotions || STEREOTYPES
A man, even from training as a young boy, is told not to be emotional. No matter how a situation might be to make him vulnerable, showing emotion will make society regard him as less than a man. I ask you, what are the pros and cons of this stereotype? How has it affected our male gender? How long will they continue to bottle up their feelings? How should they exercise emotional discipline even when they are being expressive of how they feel?

Marriage || STEREOTYPES
Today's episode talks about the marriage stereotypes in the Nigerian-African community. As a woman, if by 30 or older you aren't married, the society sees you as "OLD CARGO". Even if you are still in your 20's, because you don't want to be seen as OLD CARGO by the time you're 30, you fall into the pressure of finding a marriage partner by any way. Can the same be said for men? Also, there are those who see marriage as the end point of life. They don't believe in having personal goals and achieving them before marriage or even in marriage! Once you're married, you're good to go and that's the end of the road! Well, what do YOU think about these stereotypes? Say something in the "Voice Message" section.😉😊
