Many of us live with skin sensitivities, whether that’s eczema, rosacea, psoriasis etc which can often affect our daily lives but these conditions can also influence our self-image and our definition of beautiful especially in this world of ever changing beauty standards. NHS statistics show that atopic eczema is really common and affects up to 1 in 5 children and about 1 in 10 adults in the UK.
In today’s episode I’m joined by Simmy, who is the founder of NKD Jewellery, a jewellery company that specialises in creating jewellery for people who face skin sensitives like eczema. Both me and Simmy have grown up living with eczema from a young age. We will share personal journeys with eczema: how it has influenced our self-image and the challenges we’ve faced navigating western and asian beauty standards. We’ll also explore practical tips for others with skin sensitivities such as what to look for when buying jewellery and ways to feel more confident in your skin.
