It’s Camp From The Port’s Show!
Episode 85 | "The Culture" is Hip-Hop
Media outlet, Billboard informed the target demo for rap music that no songs were in the Top 40 since 1990. What does it mean? I'll give you my thoughts as we are in the midst of one of the greatest years for Rap Music EVER! Also, I may rant a little bit on why "The Culture" isn't all inclusive and why I want Black people to stop using the word around others, just as bad as I want them to stop using the N-Word. That and my grammy hopes on tonight's episode

Episode 82 | DAMN MAN! NOT D'ANGELO!
On October 14, 2025, R&B Legend D'Angelo passed away after his battle with pancreatic cancer. Today we celebrate his life through music. I'm kicking myself for teasing the topic of covering his Classic Album "VooDoo" which turned 25 years old this past January and not recording the episode yet. Today we do it right as well as cover Brown Sugar and his contribution to our life and times. R.I.P D'Angelo, One of the greatest musicians and composers of my time.

Episode 80 | Let Them Girls Rap
Got to circle back around to this Cardi B album, Especially since JT, Nicki and Bia are awakened and seemingly on the clock. Are we invested in this potential back and forth or nah? A Tribe Called Quest's "The Low End Theory" turns 34 today. You already know what we doing next year. The NBA Youngboy Chicago Show was just canceled. We need to salute how major that is on a Black Mayor's watch! Lizzo is saying a lot of great things to aspiring artists, but why are people listening now? I got an opinion...So let's talk about it!

EPISODE 79 | SO THIS HOW WE ENDING THE SUMMER?
It’s officially the last real weekend of summer and I got some content regrets…Starting with I STILL haven’t gave y’all the Summer of 2000 or 2005 Episodes. I apologize. I’m going to just do them out of season, cause I think they’re going to be dope episodes. What was YOUR “Song of the Summer?” Cause the labels didn’t give you one specific this year. Dame Dash needs a job and this hurts and should be embarrassing. I’ll explain. Cardi B finally dropped her album. We won’t need to deep dive this. And because I don’t want to talk pregnancy and messy gossip, We talking about who dropped the better breakup album? Offset “Kiari” or Cardi B “Am I The Drama?” I watched Hitman Holla vs Murda Mook - I want to give my opinion and talk about what I feel is the weakest part of Battle Rap and how I feel it should be handled.

Episode 78 | STAY OUT THE STREETS AND GET A 9 TO 5!
Haven't been listening to much music outside of Larry June, but it's still some important things that need to be said beyond music. Watch the Big Bank and Young Thug conversation and it was honestly great! I want to make sure the right message is highlighted within it. Also caught up on Dame Dash vs Cam'ron and anyone else with a different opinion about the Rocafella Era. What I want to focus on is the very poor narrative on "Cam making 50 his boss" after his recent acquisition of Paid In Full. Job shaming needs to stop and we long overdue for this conversation.

Episode 74 | Jermaine Dupri Is Actually Right Though!
JD started a firestorm back in March of this when asking what is the goal of Independent Artist. JD is currently on a media run and discussing this on the Big Facts and Joe Budden Podcast. I know rage bait is the thing, but I think with detail and harsh reality it's actually easy to understand Jermaine Dupri's question and why it may look like he's championing or advocating for artist to sign to major labels. Let's talk about it.   BUT FIRST! NEW Cardi B "Imaginary Players" NEW Joey Bada$$ "Dark Aura"

Episode 73 | Protect Jellyroll At All Cost!
This morning, I was sent a post by this cat Ryan Upchurch and it was meant to "expose" Jellyroll. Listen to the clip 5-6 times. and to be real, I don't see the real problem, BUT I do think a great "Music Business Conversation" can be had because of it, so that's the lead topic tonight! Also, I want to ask this question to all of you. What can Drake do to gain back his American Women Fanbase? We'll talk all that and a little more! LFG!

YO! Sorry for the delay, it's been a lot going on, but I'm only here to talk music! I saw A.R Rahman for the first time ever and wow...What an incredible experience! It got me to thinking about black artist, music and shows and how we need to have more control over our culture's music and dare I say less inclusive... I also got a list of peaceful black music for you to listen to. And after that, I totally contradict myself and tell you about some of the albums I've been listening to and loving that I think you should listen to! Larry June and Cardo Got Wings "Until Night Comes" Freddie Gibbs and Alchemist "Alfredo 2" Key Glock "Glockaveli: The Don" DJ Premier and Roc Marciano "The Coldest Profession" Juicy J "Head on A Swivel" Ye Ali "Traphouse Jodeci 3" Tyler, The Creator "Don't Tap The Glass"

Episode 71 | Young Jeezy's "Let's Get It: Thug Motivation 101" 20 Years Later
This time 20 years ago, I had just moved from the West Burbs of Chicago, IL and was preparing for a new life in Atlanta. I moved with some homeys literally right on the border of Roswell and ATL off GA 400 and the nonstop talk around the city was how Young Jeezy was about to drop his debut album. I won't cap....I wasn't feeling the participation AT ALL! Today, we talk 2005 Atlanta, TM 101 and how Jeezy did something that changed my mind on artist releases forever. LET'S GET IT!

Episode 70 | Bone Thugs-N-Harmony's "E.1999 Eternal" Turns 30!
The year is 1995...It's July and the hip-hop community is still reeling from the shocking and untimely death of Eazy-E. There was also great speculation around his new group that he signed to Ruthless Records. With Creepin On Ah Come Up, being a success, the pressure was on for Bone Thugs-N-Harmony to deliver. Especially with Eazy being gone and and many feeling like he was the secret sauce. Today, we go back in time to relive this album and all the moments in time it created. Do Bone Thugs-N-Harmony worship the devil? What was the perception of Cleveland? Crossroad vs Tha Crossroads and which version do you have? Is E.1999 a classic? Why? Where is Bone Thugs-N-Harmony ranked against the best ever? These questions and much more on this episode

Episode 69 | Canibus Sophomore Album "2000 B.C" Turns 25!
Listen to my voice New York. Listen Deeply, You are getting sleepy. On July 18th you're gonna get up go to the record store and you're going to buy 2000 B.C! Canibus is the original Internet Emcee/Blog Era Rapper and I have a heck of a sidebar on this topic. Canibus was one of my absolute favorite rappers of the late 90's early 2000's. I was overly excited to buy his 2nd album since the first one left a lot to be desired. From the Battle with LL, New Wyclef distain and The DJ Clue Promo Freestyle, nothing was going to stop me from copping and getting my ears on this! In a time where the "Sophomore Jinx" was a hot topic especially in regards to rap music, Canibus was one of few artist of his time to actually defeat the stigma; However, it largely fell on deaf ears and personally, I feel it's one of the most disrespected album in hip-hop ever! Let's talk the album, the progression of Canibus and how labels and marketing truly make or break careers no matter how we feel about talent and skill. And of course we'll talk about how some emcee's may truly get in their own way and how that can not do you any favors long term.

And honestly since this recording, I think it's even more positive.  Also King Combs drops "NEVER STOP" with Ye and Kanye West and man...The energy y'all had for Yeezus should have been applied here. Kanye's resume is undeniable, but now...It may be time to just stop trying to attach himself to the hottest topics and the new young energy
