Tijdens een bezoek aan zijn ouders in hun kibboets, vroeg hij zijn moeder hem te vertellen over haar oorlogsverleden, over hoe zij Auschwitz overleefde. Dat verhaal nam hij op en het werd de basis voor de theatervoorstelling 'Once you told me'.
