In this episode we head to Liverpool to learn about one of the most distinctive English accents: Scouse. Along the way we discover front vowels, lip rounding, some truly unique consonant variations, and a very distinctive intonation.

This week we head out West and find that a large area of England has what's known as a 'West Country Twang'. Distinctive among southern English accents for its rhoticity, West Country suffers some stereotyping in film and media. We discuss the distinctive features of this accent: vowel sounds, consonant sounds and intonation. At the end of the episode, we each choose a sound from West Country to go into the new accent cauldron.

In this first episode Joseph and David head to the West Midlands and learn about the accent features of Brummie - the accent from Birmingham. Exploring the key vowel sounds, consonant sounds and sing-song intonation, we also talk about famous Brummies and the lack of TV shows made in the region. At the end of the episode we choose the first 2 sounds to go into the new accent cauldron.
