Electric artists have been playing acoustically since the beginning of recorded music. Most songwriters start the process with an acoustic instrument and capturing the sound of a song on just wire and wood has a vulnerable, human feel to it.

This week, we lace up our Doc Martins and hike over to the Pacific Northwest to the home of GRUNGE! We discuss bands outside the usual suspects of Nirvana, Soundgarden, Alice In Chains, and Pearl Jam. Your hosts fondly remember this time, as we were young adults when the Seattle scene invaded all US rock n’ roll avenues. In retrospect, this sounds like less of a movement and more of a melting pot of many of the genres that had been established in silos during the 70s and 80s. That’s right, The Chairman not only graced us with his presence, but he demanded we deliver to you this episode: “Grave Mistake: BÖC Shoulda Been Huge!!!”. One could argue that selling 24M albums would negate “Shoulda Been Huge” treatment. However, when most folks can only name 3 songs by this band, and one of them is due to an SNL skit, we think they fit the bill.

The thrash, crossover, speed metal movement of the 80s spawned his love of all things rock n’ punk n’ metal. Once again, we will not be covering the Big 4 of Metallica, Slayer, Megadeth, and Anthrax, but if you love them, then you will love this bunch.
