Bryans Bio:
Dr. Bryan Duggan is multi-dimensional hyper-being, who lectures in the School of Computer Science at TU Dublin. He has been teaching Creative Coding, eXtended Reality (XR) and Game Development for the past 23 years: teaching Computer Science through a combination of art, music, creativity and yoga. Bryan is a visual artist and creator of projects including: Infinite Forms, an infinite, generative world inspired by the ideas of Terence McKenna. He performs music-responsive, generative art at festivals and events including: Dublin Maker, Audio Garden, Paradiso, Ozora, Re:publica and the IDPAT 20204 Conference Afterparty in Wigwam, Dublin. His recent project I.am.DANI was featured in the journal: Nature, and exhibited for the MSX 40th anniversary in Amsterdam in 2023.
He is a founder member of the Psychedelic Society of Ireland and has co-hosted events with the society for many years. Last year, Bryan ran a workshop on creating multi-sensory XR experiences for therapists and neuro-scientists at MIND:Rethinking Psychedelics in Berlin, and he has spoken at Altered Conference, Re:publica and the Cologne International Film Festival about the deep connections between Computer Science and the Psychedelic Experience. Bryan brings yoga and meditation into Computer Science, and has introduced yoga to all incoming first year Computer Science students for several years. He guides students to understand that coding, like consciousness, is a tool for reality creation. His work points toward a future where technology serves not just utility, but the three higher callings of the human spirit: art, learning, and love. Bryan plays traditional Irish music on the flute and is a regular performer in Dublin.
