Welcome to INKZOID TALKS Today we are going to have a conversation with Author Rajat Chandra Sarmah who is an accomplished engineer with over 36 years of experience in power projects across India, having graduated from Assam Engineering College in 1985. He has worked in Northeast India, planning, erecting, commissioning, and operating hydro/ thermal/solar projects. Notable achievements beyond his technical responsibilities are creating a botanical garden at the Kopili Hydro Electric project and construction of a bridge over the Doyang reservoir connecting the local villages . He believes , sports as a great unifier and during his time as Head of Project at Kopili HEP, he started the Ist club football tournament and in Doyang , he first organised Cricket match between two neighbouring district of Assam and Nagaland . He was also involved in kyong football tournament at wokha district in Nagaland . He achieved LEAD international Fellowship sponsored by Rockefeller foundation New York ,and Fellowship of Institute of Engineers India , C level certificate on project management from IPMA . He also participated as a resource person in various National seminars / conferences in various states and also at Central universities of Tezpur and Mizoram . As an Executive Director, he led various corporate departments including planning, renewables, IT, commercial, and safety and security. Post-retirement, he pursued writing, publishing his debut book “A Sanguine Tale Unfolding the Life of a Project Engineer,” which won accolades such as the Golden Book Award 24 and Emerging Writer of the Year at KLC 24. He have published four additional works and various articles, poems, and short stories.
