Calling all my independent (and dependent) women & men! My friend, Deborah, a teacher and leader in her community, is here to share how being brought up to be independent has been both advantageous to her career and relationships. First, we dive into her story moving to Canada from Venezuela during her adolescence, the "who am I?" and "what is my role?" stage of psychosocial development (hello, Erik Erikson's stages of psychosocial development). Deborah then discusses how she guides her students in being more confident and willing to take initiative in their work and life-skills. And the most juicy part... Deb and I have a conversation as two self-proclaimed independent people, who also accept the support of a partner (and sometimes depend on them for all kinds of love and support) when in a relationship; as well as why time is such a valuable thing you can give to anyone, but especially, your significant other. Enjoy :)
