It is impossible to know what is in people's hearts merly by glancing at their outward appearances. When we marginalize the poor just because they are ragged or dirty, we make be ignoring the strength of their character or the richness of their faith. Conversely, when we honor someone because they are smartly dressed or be jeweled, we maybe elevating people of poor character to a place of honor, people who take advantage of others and are undeserving of special recognition. In James's example, the believers had honored those who oppressed them, and dragged them into court. They may have been rich in the temporary things of wealth, but what really matters is faith in God and love for others

Two guest joined the regular attenders for the meeting. Both apparently were new to the meeting because they needed help knowing where they should sit. Their newness was not the only thing that made them stand out. Neither of them conformed to the normal socioeconomic standing of everyone else. One was outlandishly rich' and the other was desperately poor. The distinctions between these two men may have been obvious, but it was not our place to shine a light on those distinctions. When we do so, James asked rhetorically, do we "become judges of evil thoughts?" As we hold on to our faith in Christ, we trust Him, obey Him, and live like Him. God does not show partiality and neither should we....

Racism and prejudice are far more common than they should be among those who agree that "all are created equal." Whether the distinctions we make are racial, socioeconomic, religious, or political, we often treat people differently because they are different from us or cannot do something fo us. James pointed to a better way. He taught that we should treat everyone the same...Amen

Poverty and riches can both be a trial. Poverty is a trial for obvious reasons. People need clean water, nutritious food, adequate shelter, and warm clothing. If they do not have these thing they will suffer. Those in poverty as constantly reminded of their dependence on God, providing them with nonstop opportunities to exercise their faith. The wealthy can have deep needs that money cannot meet, or their money may have created problems they never had before. The wealthy make a dire mistake if they think their greatest resources are what they own. Those resources are temporary, at best

James 1:1-12 Faith on Display in Hard times
God uses trials to mature your faith Amen
James used a word that compares believers' various trials with a refiner's fire, which burns away impurities (1Pet. 1:6-7) God's ultimate goal in testing is that our faith becomes "mature and complete." If you want to stop being tossed about, rely on God to show you what is best for you. Ask him for wisdom, and trust that he will give it to you. Then your decision will be sure and solid!!

We can live with joy even as we go through disastrous, difficult moments. It is easier for most people to offer help to others than it is to ask for help. If you are experiencing a difficult trail, reach out to a close friend, your Bible study leader, or your Bible study group and ask for their help. James wrote to encourage the "Twelve Tribes" that was scattered around the world as they would experience "Various Trials". James instructed believers to "Consider" it a 'GREAT' JOY!!!!

In order to grow from infant Christians to mature Christians, we must learn discernment. We must train our conscience, our senses, our mind, and our body to distinguish good from evil. Can you recognize temptation before it trap you? Can you tell the difference between a correct use of Scripture and a mistaken one?

If your desire is to have the qualities listed in Galatians 5:22,23 then you know that the Holy Spirits is leading you. At the same time, be careful not to confuse your subjective feelings with the Spirit's leading. Being lead by the Holy Spirit involves the desire to hear, readiness to obey God's Word, and the sensitivity to discern between your feelings and his promptings.

The beginning point of faith is believing in God's character: He is who he says. The end point is believing in God's promises: He will do what he says. God will not settle for mere acknowledgment of his existence. He wants your faith that leads to a personal dynamic relationship

People may hesitate to give generously to God because they worry about having enough money left over to meet their own needs. the person who gives only a little will receive only a little in return. Don't let a lack of faith keep you from giving cheerfully and generously. He is pleased when we who are created in his image give generously and joyfully....Amen

All sins make us sinners, and all sins cut us off from our holy God. All sins, therefore, lead to death (because they disqualify us from living with God), regardless of how great o small they seem. Don't minimize "little" sins over rate "big" sins. They all separate us from God, but they all can be forgiven.....Amen

Read: Romans 3:23
How have our old selves been crucified with Christ? Legally, God looks at us as if we had died with Christ. Because our sins died with him, we are no longer condemned. Relationally, we have become one with Christ, and his experiences are ours. Our Christian life began when, in unity with him, we died to our old life. In our daily life, we must equally crucify sinful desires that keep us from following Christ. This, too, is a kind of dying with him Amen

What does it means to grow spiritually? Why does it seems so hard to grow? How long does it take? these are questions that can create an enormous amount of confusion on the matter of how Christians grow spiritually. Understanding the purpose of spiritual growth is critical to our development as Christians. Second Peter encourages us to "grow" in grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
This milestone begins our journey. We will explore the importance of spiritual growth in the life of a Christian

Moses' mother knew how wrong it would be to destroy her child. But their was little she could do to change Pharaoh's new law. Her only alternative was to hid the child and later place him in a tiny papyrus basket on the river. God used her courageous act to place her son, the Hebrew of his choice, in the house of Pharaoh. Do you sometimes feel surrounded by evil and frustrated by how little you can do about it? When faced with evil, look for ways to act against it. Then trust God to use your effort, however small it seems in his war against evil. Special opportunities may come your way unexpectedly. Don't let the fear of what might happen cause you to miss an opportunity. Be alert for the opportunities God give you and take full advantage of them.
Take time to look at the following passages:
Genesis 6:14; Exodus 2:2-9; Psalm 55:22; Proverbs 3:5-6; Matthew 11:28; and Ephesians 3:20

The Message of the Good News comes to focus in this verse. God's love is not static or selfcentered; it reaches out and draws others in. Here God sets the pattern of true love, the basis for all relationships - when you love someone dearly, you are willing to give freely to the point of self-sacrfice. God paid dearly with the life of his Son.
