Our Host continues reading Amelie's journal. Traveling to Germany for the next stage of her initiation, Amelie balances finding out what happened to her sister and niece with her growing fascination with the cult.    

After a tragic accident takes the lives of her sister and niece, the French artist Amelie begins to believe that something is extremely wrong. In 2008 she went undercover to find out the truth and this recording contains her diary entries translated and the only changes that have been made are when translation has confused the truth being told and the Host and Admin have made minor edits. Otherwise it is presented as written. What follows is part 1 of Amelie's Journal.

The Host's sense of time is being broken apart. He notices gaps in time between his thoughts and speaking, he steps away for moments that feel like days and sits for minutes that stretch into hours. The deeper he gets into researching the cult and The First Father and King the more his sense of reality begins to collapse.  

The Hosts life has become fully aligned with the investigation. He can't leave his home anymore, his lungs can't cope with the outside and so he's trapped in an empty house full of familiar whispers.  

The host remembers connects one of the stalkers he saw at Dublin Port to an app for breathing and meditation. The only way for the Host to go forward is to go back and look into the clues he may have missed. The Society for Cultural and Historical Research has come up too many times and in too many places to be ignored - it’s time to find out who they are and what they know. Are they another enemy or has the Host finally found another ally?

Knowing now there are darker things in the world and on the road than he could have ever anticipated. The Host takes stock of his situation and returns to investigation over action starting with a look into the mysterious Society and whether they’re a threat or an ally.

He has to get away. He has to escape, but it isn’t that simple. There are darker things in the shadowed spaces of our world. Grim things, wicked and monstrous and they hunger for those who fear them. Forced to face childhood trauma and consider how a violent home that he’d left far behind still has a hold on him, the Host works through his fears, sorrows and anger to find anything that can might save him.

A nightmare recording fills the Host with dread as he begins to realize this is not a haunting or something with easy answers. Struggling with this knowledge he pushes on with finding connections to the forum user.

Researching ghosts, monsters and paranormal activity leads the Host to a dead forum full of wild and outlandish tales. It’s here he finds posts from someone who went through what he’s experiencing and opens up fresh leads and old wounds.

Haunted by dreams he can’t quite remember and old memories of childhood nightmares, our Host begins recording his experiences. The room behind him is black, empty and silent but also filled by a monumental, hungry presence. He doesn’t know what it is, he doesn’t know what it wants but what he does know, right down to his core, is that he’s probably going to die.
