in today's society, I feel as though feminism has begun to warp into a negative and toxic idea about what womanhood is and should be. some people believe that women should not dream of falling in love and should instead focus on being a powerful boss woman, and while there is nothing wrong with this career path, it should not be forced onto every single young girl. people should be okay with pursuing ANY career, whether it be a stay at home mom, working woman, or both. feminism to me is all about having the option to be whoever you want to be and I hope this episode allows you to have a better understanding on what positive feminism looks like and how you can apply it to your life in order to be your own feminist!
more than ever, I feel like politics has been increasingly relevant in women’s rights. we have seen a major shift in how women are viewed in our society through the overturning of Roe v Wade and the ever present pink tax still being placed on women’s hygiene items. anti-transgender legislation is being passed in almost every state in the US and people still don't understand how big of a problem this really is. Hillary Clinton said, “Women’s rights are human rights” and I think this is so important for people to think about as they listen to my podcast. if there is one takeaway you carry with you after listening, let it be that you have the voice and opportunity to make a true difference. educate yourself, understand how and why your voice is so important, and how you can use it to fight and create change.
