Actor Andrew Phung was recently named "Best Actor in a Comedy Series," a surprise he humbly accepted. Presented by fellow Alberta native Manjit Mishra, Phung expressed gratitude for his support network rooted in Alberta.
Phung often credits “Cowtown Sketch” for his success to investing in his local community first. He advises aspiring artists to develop their talents at home before moving to bigger markets like Toronto, which he did after fully exploring opportunities in Calgary. This approach helped him hone his craft and achieve national recognition.
Phung sees this moment as a turning point for Alberta’s creative scene, urging local talent to dream big and tell their stories. Remaining proud of his Alberta roots, he aims to inspire the next generation of artists to embrace their community’s potential.
