When I was planning to go to university to study fashion, I struggled to find resources on what I could expect. Now that I have graduated, I wanted to create a space for students, recent fashion graduates and people within the industry to share their experiences. This podcast is about sharing the stories of individuals who are on that journey of pursuing a career within fashion or have found their way within the industry. I hope this podcast will help students and fashion enthusiasts gain insight into the fashion industry to hopefully better equip them as they navigate their own journeys.

01.6b.In Conversation with Odunayo Ojo: Fashion Journalist

I caught up with Odunayo Ojo, aka Ayo from The Fashion Archive YouTube channel. I first came across Ayo’s YouTube channel during my second year at university. Even though I was studying Fashion Design full-time I felt that there was more about fashion history and business that I didn’t know and watching The Fashion Archive videos helped fill in some of the gaps.

For the second part of our conversation we discuss the importance of fashion history for both designers and journalists, fashion marketing and how a career in Fashion can be just as good as a career in Medicine or Engineering (talking to our African parents 😉).
