I Love That For You!
Routines & Vices
Welcome back to I Love That For You! and HAPPY SUMMER, ALL! (To get you in the mood we even have birds chirping in the background of our mediocre audio we're still figuring out!) Today we're talking routines and vices and how sometimes they're one in the same. (Take a drink every time we use run club or running as an example!) But first, Sean and Kelly give their roses and thorns of the week before they dive into their own daily routines and vices and how the pandemic changed a lot of ours for the foreseeable future. Our first listener email deals with a listener who is wondering if he's the asshole for wanting his wife to change her extensive morning routine for a few days to accommodate family members staying over. Our next listener email asks for advice on how to change their well-worn habits and routines in their life in a way that won't be too disruptive to their current autopilot lifestyle. On We Think You'll Love This! we recommend A TON of resources to help you set / reset healthy habits and routines: - Atomic Habits by James Clear - The Power of Habit by Charles Duhigg  - Dopamine Nation by Dr. Anna Lembke - Daily Rituals by Mason Currey - Drink: The Intimate Relationship Between Women and Alcohol by Anne Dowsett Johnston - 10 % Happier Podcast by Dan Harris - KCRW's Life Examined Podcast with Jonathan Bastian - Habitica App - Insight Timer App - I Am Sober App On We Hate This For You! we rate some triggering habit / vice situations (in way too many different / complicated methods!) that you wrote in to us about--giving you our best advice for coping along the way. Finally, we give some tips and tricks for healthy habit, routine and vice management going forward. Subscribe now wherever you listen to podcasts and be sure to email us your advice questions, ethical dilemmas and triggering scenarios to ilovethatforyoupod@gmail.com for a chance to be featured on the pod! I Love That For You!
Attachment Style Evolution In Relationships: From First to Last Loves (And Everything in Between)
Welcome back to I Love That For You! Today we're talking attachment theory and how the four different attachment styles appear in romantic relationships--from first loves, to last loves, and everything in between. But first, Sean and Kelly give their peak and pits of the week before Kelly laments on how she misses local ad jingles! Next, Sean gives us a masterclass on attachment theory and the four different attachment styles before Kelly and Sean dive into which attachment styles they've found themselves in in past and present relationships. Our first listener email deals with how to reframe the bad rep that avoidant attachments style individuals get. Our next listener email asks for advice on dealing with an ultimatum that our listeners first love gave her that has her second guessing her life decisions.  On We Think You'll Love This! we recommend some fun resources to help you get into that loving spirit: -High Fidelity -Hold Me Tight: Seven Conversations For A Lifetime of Love by Sue Johnson -My Old Ass - Slate's Death, Sex and Money Podcast with Anna Sale - 1979 by The Smashing Pumpkins - In Between Days and Friday I'm In Love by The Cure On We Hate This For You! we rate some (very) triggering first love / attachment style related scenarios from you, dear listeners. (But not before Sean shares his own bummer of a We Hate This For You!) Finally, we give some tips and tricks for healthy attachment style application going forward. Getting meta about Meta
Welcome to the new I Love That For You! Today we're getting meta about Meta. First, we chat how the podcast in this new format came to be before diving into our own social media diets / habits. Then we dive into our listener email from Anxiously, Post Issues--dealing with freezing up and self-editing before posting and comparing and despairing. We walk our listener through some (hopefully) helpful tips and tricks on dealing with the compare and despair vicious cycle of social media. On We Think You'll Love This! we recommend two great resources to help you get offline just a little bit more: - Filterworld: How Algorithms Flattened Culture by Kyle Chayka - Social Media Escape Club by Seth Werkhesier - Bonus: The Anxious Generation by Jonathan Haidt - The Honest Broker by Ted Giola - Plan English with Derek Thompson - Is Pop Culture Worse Than Ever? On We Hate This For You! we rate some (very) triggering social media scenarios from you, dear listeners.  Finally we give some tips and tricks for healthy Meta use to go forward. The Trailblazing Comedy Icon You Should've Never Heard Of: Carol Burnett
A solo episode today due to the crazy forces that be! (Is mercury in retrograde or is it just Spectrum's (terrible) internet?) First Kelly catches everyone up on her Coachella weekend and NYC marathon fundraising efforts. Then, by listener request, Kelly dives into a trailblazing comedy legend: Carol Burnett. Carol turns 92 later this month and is still going strong as ever. But did you know that the huge success she achieved happened in part due to the kindness of strangers? Listen in as Kelly dives into the mysterious benefactors who helped her get to New York where she found success on the stage, tv and ultimately her own iconic variety show.    Support Kelly's NYC Marathon Fundraising efforts here!  https://fundraisers.nyrr.org/kelly-lansing    Follow us @ilovethatforyoupod and email us at ilovethatforyoupod@gmail.com and follow us on our Facebook page!   Follow us on Substack! I Love That For You!
The Faux-Bearded Female Pharaoh of Egypt Queen Hatshepsut
It's another time-traveling episode and the ladies are not just walking like an Egyptian but talking about them too! After an exciting update about Kelly reaching her dream of running the New York Marathon (be sure to support her fundraiser with World Animal Protection here: https://fundraisers.nyrr.org/kelly-lansing ), Red gives a life update about her move to Stratford to work with the Stratford Theater festival's wig and makeup department (for all the shows on this season, check out this link here: https://www.stratfordfestival.ca/WhatsOn/ThePlays ). Surprisingly this somehow managed to send our hosts down to the first examples of wigs and beards in history where they uncovered one of the first female pharaohs of ancient Egypt, the fake-bearded and most successful pharaoh you may never have heard of Hatshepsut! And after a hair-raising game of "I Moustache You This or That?", the girls decide what moustache style reigns supreme!Let's get to the root of the stache and see why this week the ladies are saying, "I Love This For You!"Follow us @ilovethatforyoupod and email us at ilovethatforyoupod@gmail.com and follow us on our Facebook page!   Follow us on Substack! Tuesday Tea: Embracing The Slow Philosophy with World Traveler Amya Tulipe Hosenn
Welcome to this month’s Tuesday Tea Amya Tulipe Hosenn!   Tulipe works in the world of creative development and production for feature-length studio films at MACRO Films. A graduate of Syracuse University and Bengali by background, she has traveled extensively with her international doctor mother, picked up a few languages, and never quite knows which one will come out when she’s tired—especially after watching a movie she believes never should have been made.  In her spare time, Tulipe enjoys bookstores (she's a huge Jane Austen and Agatha Christie stan), dinner parties, playing tennis, convincing herself that "artisanal garnishes" at Michelin-starred restaurants are worth the price, teaching Shakespeare and atoms to school kids, blogging about literature and productivity, and taming her need for speed. After starting her career at Disney, HBO, and Netflix, she’s now at MACRO Film Studios.   Follow us @ilovethatforyoupod and email us at ilovethatforyoupod@gmail.com and follow us on our Facebook page!   Follow us on Substack!
