Derek is an educator with a degree in Film Studies, and Sam is an aspiring actress with close to 50 stage credits and an indy film under her belt. They've been watching movies together for a long time, and their shared interest in film history (Sam's been called an "old soul" by many people. and Derek's just old) drives this podcast.

Well, as it turns out, in 1955, there was no such thing as Davy Crockett! A mythical character, brought perfectly to life by Fess Parker, Davy was the quintessential post-war, pre-Elvis hero!
