13. Prioritize Joy to Improve Your Physical Health & Mental Health

Making time in your day to put joy first can be a game-changer! I've had many conversations with people who prioritize work and responsibilities over their own joy and happiness and this can lead to burnout and stress.

Prioritizing joy has been shown to reduce cortisol levels (the hormone associated with stress), boost immunity, enhance productivity and creativity, and improve overall well-being.

In this episode, I share why and how I started to prioritize joy in my life, plus I share some tips to help you make a case for creating more space in your life for joy.

If you are struggling to prioritize joy in your life, ask yourself these 3 questions to get some clarity on how to incorporate more joy into your life:

  1. What hobbies have I neglected due to my busy schedule that brings me joy?
  2. Who are people who bring joy into my life that I haven't seen or spoken to in a while?
  3. Where are places that bring me joy that I haven't been to in a long time?

Based on these questions, you should have a clear idea of things to do, people to spend time with, and places to go that will spark more joy in your life.
