Hank and Mel review the season 2 finale episode of House of the Dragon titled: The Queen Who Ever Was. Alys Rivers leads Daemon to a weirwood tree where he foresees a future including a White Walker and Daenerys Targaryen. Rhaenyra and Addam head to Harrenhal after Simon Strong sends a raven suggesting that Daemon may be traitorous. Corlys and Alyn talk about the elephant in the room but it doesn't go well. Hugh Hammer and Ulf make themselves at home on Dragonstone which frustrates Prince Jacaerys. Rhaena finds the wild dragon but we'll have to wait until season 3 for the resolution to the story. Hank makes a case for this episode being the first episode of season 3 instead of the season 2 finale.

Hank and Mel review the penultimate episode of House of the Dragon season 2 titled: The Red Sowing. Rhaenyra tracks down Addam and Seasmoke and after a standoff he swears fealty to the Queen. Larys has Grand Maester Orwyle accelerate Aegon's recovery in order to get him back on the throne as quick as possible. Rhaenyra sends word to King's Landing, via Alyn and Elinda, that she is looking for Targaryen dragonseeds. After the death of Grover Tully, Oscar Tully returns to Daemon with an offer to help as long as Willem Blackwood is brought to justice. Jacaerys is upset about the illegitimate children of Valyrian blood being offered dragons because he thinks it could threaten his succession. This is in stark contrast to the source material. Corlys is open with Addam about his lineage (although he doesn't come out and say it). The dragon keepers revolt when they find out about Rhaenyra's plan. Vermithor kills most of the dragonseeds until he gets to Hugh Hammer. Ulf is claimed by Silverwing then flies over King's Landing. Aemond gets on Vhagar and is in hot pursuit until he sees Rhaenyra with Syrax, Vermithor, and Silverwing. This episode had some great special effects mixed with some puzzling dialogue.

Hank and Mel review House of the Dragon season 2 episode 6 titled: Smallfolk. Corlys embraces being Hand of the Queen. Daemon has even more dreams at Harrenhal and this time he's stuck in season one. Alys Rivers goes to help Grover Tully so to speak. Aegon II is on the road recovery but doesn't remember anything according which he hopes will save him from Aemond. Ser Criston Cole and Gwayne have to head back to battle as he and Alicent don't truly get to say goodbye. Alyn and Addam have different desires when it comes to the Sea Snake. Meleys head being paraded through town is a bad omen. We think Hugh Hammer acts out of character in this episode. Rhaenyra sends boats filled with food to King's Landing in order to win favor with the smallfolk. We find out why Lady Arryn wanted a mature dragon for protection. Hank and Mel review House of the Dragon season 2 episode 5 titled: Regent. Rhaenyra wants Corlys to be Hand. Daemon has more dreams at Harrenhal, this time it's a sick dream about his mother. Alys Rivers and Daemon continue their weird budding relationship as she struggles to understand his actions. Aegon II is cut out of his armor and he may never recover. Ser Criston Cole and the rest of the Green Council want Aemond to be king in Aegon's stead much to Alicent's dismay. Hank defends his take on Alyn and Addam being The Sea Snake's bastards. Could he also be heir to Driftmark. Meleys head being paraded through town is a bad omen. Hugh Hammer is unable to get his family out of Kin's Landing. Lady Arryn is upset that she didn't receive a mature dragon for protection. Jacaerys suggests searching other houses for Valyrian descendants to ride Vermithor and Silverwing.

Hank and Mel review House of the Dragon season 2 episode 4 titled: The Red Dragon and the Gold. Rhaenyra tells her council about sneaking into King's Landing disquised as a Septa. Daemon has more dreams at Harrenhal and begins to interact with Alys Rivers. In one of his dreams he cuts off Rhaenyra's head. Aegon II flies drunk and pays the price. Ser Criston Cole and Alicent's brother Gwayne continue to spar over battle plans. Not even Aegon II knew about the trap Ser Criston Cole and Aemond set for Rhaenys (who we think they hoped would be Rhaenyra). In tis episode Rhaenys figured out Alyn is one of The Sea Snake's bastards. Could he also be heir to Driftmark. Alicent drinks moon tea brewed by Grand Maester Orwyle which makes us wonder about the passing of time in this series. F's in the comments for Meleys.

Hank and Mel review House of the Dragon season 2 episode 3 titled: The Burning Mill. Arryk and Erryk Cargyll are burried together. Rhaenyra sneaks into King's Landing disquised as a Septa (aka Shame Nunn). Daemon takes Harrenhal in a less than stellar fashion. He then has a dream of Rhaenyra sewing Jaehaerys' head onto his body. Rhaenyra sends Rhaena, her younger children Joffrey, Aegon and Viserys, and four dragon eggs to the Arryns. Aegon II has his buddies become Kingsguard. Sir Criston Cole and Alicent's brother Gwayne almost get cooked by Baela's dragon Moondancer. Mysaria becomes Rhaenyra's Mistress of Whisperers as Larys becomes Aegon II's Master of Whisperers. Rhaenys and the Sea Snake talk about who will be the heir to Driftmark. Cheese is still hanging in there.

Hank and Mel review House of the Dragon season 2 episode 2 titled: Rhaenyra the Cruel. Mel points out that George R.R. Martin borrowed heavily from history when writing the story for Fire & Blood. It's Arryk Cargyll versus Erryk Cargyll on Dragonstone. Otto gets relieved of his duties as Hand of the King. Rhaenyra and Daemon have a major argument that sends Daemon off to Harrenhal. Aegon II goes off the rails with the help of Sir Criston Cole. Rhaenys and the Sea Snake talk about who their allegiance is to (hint: it's not supposed to be Daemon). Blood and Cheese get what they had coming to them!

Hank and Mel review House of the Dragon season 2 episode 1 titled: A Son for a Son. As Rhaenyra grieves for Lucerys the Greens scramble to find support for the coming war. Jacaerys visits the Wall in the North and receives a promise of 2000 troops from Cregan Stark. Erryk Cargyll spars with Daemon about loyalty. Rhaenyra lays Lucerys to rest while Alicent lights a candle for him. Aegon II plays bring the kid to work day. Rhaenys doesn't take any orders from Daemon meanwhile the Sea Snake meets the man who saved his life. Helaena has another vision but can't avoid the situation.

Hank and John review House of the Dragon season 1 episode 10 - finale titled: The Black Queen. Erryk Cargyll brings King Viserys' crown to Rhaenyra on Dragonstone. While the Greens send Otto to speak with Rhaenyra and Daemon about the offer from Aegon II. Rhaenys and the Sea Snake have a great conversation that could payoff in season 2. Hank and John review House of the Dragon season 1 episode 9 titled: The Green Council. After King Viserys' death, the Green Council plots to crown Prince Aegon as king. Ser Criston kills Lord Beesbury when he objects. Lord Commander Harrold Westerling is not onboard for this treason. Otto delays announcing Viserys' death to fortify the council's position and he coerces the lords' fealty. Queen Alicent makes and offer to Princess Rhaenys. Ser Erryk Cargyll and Ser Arryk Cargyll search for Aegon, while Alicent has Ser Criston and Prince Aemond. Mysaria has Aegon is hiding in the Grand Sept. The Cargylls find Aegon, but lose him to Criston and Aemond after a fight. Lord Larys Strong warns Alicent that Talya is a spy afterwards, Larys burn Mysaria's house. Aegon is crowned king. After Ser Erryk frees Rhaenys who promptly gets her dragon Meleys and then fails to end the conflict when she could have. Many things in this episode didn't take place in the book.

House of the Dragon fast forwards six years from episode 7 to episode 8. The Sea Snake, Corlys Velaryon, is wounded fighting in the Stepstones. His brother, Ser Vaemond, petitions King's Landing to name him as Corlys' heir, proclaiming Rhaenyra's son, Lucerys illegitimate. Rhaenyra and Daemon return to the capital to defend Lucerys' claim. Viserys is in even worse shape than before. Viserys makes mention of Aegon the Conqueror's dream about the Prince That Was Promised. Does House of the Dragon lean to heavily on the original series. Is the actor that place Prince Aemond too old to play a young adult? Will Aemond and Daemon duke it out at some point?

Hank and John review House of the Dragon season 1 episode 7 titled: Driftmark. Princess Rhaenyra gets cold reception from pretty much everyone at Lady Laena's funeral. Prince Daemon Targaryen refuses Viserys when it comes to returning to King's Landing. Rhaena and Baela try to fight Aemond when Lucerys puts out his eye after he claims Vhagar.
