Joe and Tom equate the flow to the 5 stages of grief and enlightens deep discussions. Recorded over the course of 2 weeks in an Austin hotel of the same name, the EP features a surprisingly wide variety of styles for such a short release. To drink, the guys crack open Tribus’ first ever hard seltzer. The inaugural flavor, Mango Peach, features real fruit purée, as will future flavors. ╰ This episode has Joe written all over it, bringing a couple of his favorite things in life. For the beer, Tribus’ winter German altbiër with hints of toffee, a dark horse in their beer offerings. For the album, the 3rd studio album from the Foos, and first to feature the late, great Taylor Hawkins on drums. This album from 1999 finds the band in an interesting spot, having just gone through some lineup changes and suddenly becoming a trio. Being an “early refresh” of sorts, this album showcases their more melodic side as well as some Foo staples, like “Learn To Fly” and “Breakout.” You might be very surprised at how the guys rated the beer and album, so check it out!

╰ Tom’s picks this episode revisit an artist and brewery that we haven’t featured since our single-digit episodes! His album choice is the 2020 release from psychedelic rockers Tame Impala. This album puts more emphasis on the psychedelic than its predecessor, 2015’s “Currents” (featured on Ep 007). The psychedelic themes made for a hell of a concert, though; Tom shares his experiences at their Mohegan Sun concert (footage on our YouTube btw). ╰ Mike’s behind the wheel for this episode. To the table, he brings the full-length debut album from modern metal band VRSTY, released earlier this year. Their sound is a mix between rock, metal, hip hop, and pop and even has elements very reminiscent of Linkin Park and other nu-metal acts of the early 2000s. To pair with that, he brings the flagship IPA from Counter Weight, another staple in the CT beer scene. Coming off of the opening of their brand new facility in Cheshire, this beer is a must for anyone interested in a CT craft beer. Joe is a BIG fan, hint hint.
