This week Pastor Dave begins our new sermon series on the book of Hebrews.
The book of Hebrews was written to Jewish Christians who were feeling the strong pull to leave their faith in Christ to the social "safety" of their established Jewish faith.
In the same way, we can have pressure in our culture today to slowly drift away from the faith. The encouragement and call from the writer of Hebrews is the persevere. Do not lose sight of who Jesus is. He is Lord and he is our life.

We are called to reflect that redemption here and now, as we wrestle and journey through the consequences of the sins of our parents and also our own sins.

Exodus 34:6-7
This week, Pastor Dave continues our series on the name and character of God, YHWH.
Our God is not like us in the sense that he is slow to anger, not quick to point out faults and sins, but is forgiving and loving by character.
The good news is also that he is slow to anger, but he does get angry at the broken, unjust, affects of sin and he desires to make it all proper again.
In the same way, we are invited to be like our heavenly Father, slow to anger, reflecting his goodness for the world.
