Homeopathy for Mommies
Meet the Homeopath: Wendy Henn Shares Her Path to Practice and Purpose
In this heartwarming and insightful episode of Homeopathy for Mommies, host Sue Meyer sits down with licensed homeopath Wendy Henn, a passionate Catholic mom of four who shares her unique journey from homeschooling during COVID to becoming a practicing classical homeopath. Wendy opens up about balancing family life, faith, and a late-starting career in homeopathy, while reflecting on deeply moving client cases that show the profound intersection of spiritual belief, emotional healing, and homeopathic care.

Together, Sue and Wendy explore the role of shared values in case-taking, the wisdom of waiting in consultations, and how healing is often as much spiritual as it is physical. They also address common concerns about faith and the foundations of homeopathy, providing clarity and encouragement to Christian listeners exploring natural medicine.

Whether you’re a student, a practitioner, or simply a seeker, this episode offers inspiration, practical insight, and a beautiful reminder of why we do the work of healing.

Wendy Henn, LPH, CPH is a mother of four with a Bachelor of Arts in Clothing Design and Construction from Central Michigan University. Her early career was rooted in creativity—designing dresses, hemming pants, creating custom curtains and throw pillows, and crafting high-end handmade purses and accessories. Alongside her artistic pursuits, Wendy also contributed to her family’s dental practice, assisting her father in various capacities for much of her adult life.

As her family grew, Wendy turned her creative energy toward developing natural, handmade cleaning, skincare, and hygiene products—always backed by careful research. She enjoys needlepoint, beading, Cricut crafting, and baking, and is an unabashed tech enthusiast.

Over the past decade, Wendy discovered homeopathy and quickly became captivated by its potential to bring healing to families and communities. She immersed herself in the study of homeopathy through podcasts, books, and classes—eventually choosing to pursue formal training over her alternative interest in database design. Through prayer and discernment, she recognized the world’s greater need for homeopaths and committed herself fully to the profession.

A graduate of the Academy of Homeopathy Education (AHE), Wendy continues to combine her love of healing with her technical expertise, developing data management systems for AHE while practicing as a homeopath. She has furthered her education through studies with renowned teachers Karen Allen and Jeremy Sherr, deepening her classical training.

Wendy holds both the Licensed Homeopathic Practitioner (LPH) and Certified Homeopathic Practitioner (CPH) credentials—assurance to her clients that she practices with knowledge, ethics, and ongoing professional development. (She previously held the Certified Classical Homeopath credential, CCH, before updating to the more comprehensive designations.)

Grounded in her faith and enriched by her wide range of life experiences, Wendy brings compassion, insight, and dedication to her homeopathic practice. She is committed to helping individuals and families restore health and embrace the blessings of true well-being in mind, body, and spirit.

What’s the Difference Between Aggravation and Proving in Homeopathy?
This week on Homeopathy for Mommies, Sue Meyer dives into the homeopathic concepts of "aggravation" and "proving." Sue discusses how to identify the difference between "aggravation" and "proving", the importance of remedy potency, and the role of the vital force in healing, emphasizing the need for communication with homeopaths.

What is Aggravation?

Aggravation refers to a temporary worsening of existing symptoms after taking a homeopathic remedy. This reaction can indicate that the remedy may not be suitable for the patient, either due to the remedy itself or its potency.

What is Proving?

Proving is a systematic process where a new substance is tested on healthy individuals to determine its potential curative properties and the symptoms it can produce. Important aspects of proving include:

The potency of a homeopathic remedy can greatly influence its effects on the individual.

Homeopathic Remedy Review: Histaminum
In this episode Sue focuses on the remedy known as Histaminum Hydrochloricum (Muraiaticum) and the various allergic reactions that this remedy can address. Homeopathic histamine is derived from a salt form known as histamine hydrochloride. The preparation process involves serial dilution and succussion (vigorous shaking) to create a remedy that retains the energetic imprint of the original substance. Homeopathic Histaminum works by helping the body regulate its own histamine production, allowing for allergy relief without the drowsiness associated with traditional medications.

Navigating Kidney Health with Homeopathic Remedies
In this episode, Sue Meyer welcomes guest Peggy Chestnut back to discuss kidney health, particularly post-COVID-19. Peggy shares her personal experiences and research on improving kidney function through homeopathic remedies and dietary changes. She highlights the importance of hydration and specific remedies which significantly improved her kidney function.

The episode also touches on her husband's prostate issues and the benefits of proactive health management. The conversation underscores the value of natural medicine and self-advocacy in maintaining kidney health, especially for older adults.

Actionable Tips for Improving Kidney Health
1. Prioritize Hydration
Hydration is crucial for kidney health. Aim to drink at least 8-10 glasses of water daily. Proper hydration helps flush out toxins and supports overall kidney function.

2. Explore Homeopathic Remedies
Consider incorporating homeopathic remedies like cordyceps into your health regimen. Consult with a homeopathic practitioner to find the best remedies for your specific needs.

3. Monitor Kidney Function Regularly
Regular blood tests to monitor eGFR and other kidney function markers are essential. Early detection of any decline in kidney function allows for timely intervention.

4. Maintain a Balanced Diet
A balanced diet low in processed foods and high in fruits, vegetables, and lean proteins supports kidney health. Be mindful of sodium intake, but don't overly restrict it, as sodium is essential for cellular function.

5. Advocate for Your Health
Be proactive in your health care. Conduct your own research and don't hesitate to seek second opinions if you feel your concerns are not being adequately addressed by your healthcare provider.

6. Manage Stress
Emotional stress can disrupt sodium balance and impact kidney health. Incorporate stress management techniques into your daily routine.
