Welcome back to A Pod of Their Own, an all-women led Home Run Applesauce podcast where we talk all things Mets, social justice issues in baseball, and normalize female voices in the sports podcasting space.
This week, we discuss the current state of the NL Wild Card race. The Mets endured an eight-game losing streak, but when we recorded this on Monday night, they were still in playoff position with their playoff odds having jumped from 70% to 80% just from Sunday’s walk-off win alone. We take a look at the remaining schedules of all the teams chasing them and try to remember that time and the odds are on our side. But the Mets still have to start playing better.
We wrap things up as we always do with Walk-off Wins, where each of us talks about what’s making us happy this week, baseball-related or otherwise.
