Get ready for our longest( and most emotional) episode yet!
In today's Season-ish Finale, hosts Daniel Tuttel and Michael Lutheran are joined by O.G. Team Hustler member Kel Tirados to look back on the roller coaster that's been 2020. Kel was Hollywood Hustle's original podcast editor back in Season One until he left the show to pursue his dreams of living in Japan.
Kel shares what his "Japan COVID-19 Hustle" has been in 2020 - from being one of the first countries hit by COVID-19 to the intense measures he and his wife went through to deliver their newborn baby, but how through all of these challenges Kel finds himself the happiest he's ever been in his life!
Then Daniel, Michael, and Kel reflect on the origins of the Hollywood Hustle Podcast - the successes, the successful failures, and the conversations had in-between to ensure that this podcast could surpass over 100 episodes! We then have a deep conversation about the strategies friends must establish when embarking on an entrepreneurial venture together to ensure not only the success of that business but more importantly, how to keep the friendship going as well.
***SPOILER ALERT***
In the second half of this episode, Michael Lutheran shares that he will be stepping away from HHP as co-host and producer to focus on his acting career and personal hustle. Daniel shares a touching tribute for his friend, one that will leave you in tears (of happiness we promise) and inspired by knowing that it's never wrong to pursue your dreams!
Do not fear, Hollywood Hustle Podcast WILL CONTINUE in 2021! Until then, we'd love to thank ALL the guests who have shared their incredible stories with us over the years and our League of Hustle for being there every step of the way! We'd love to highlight the following individuals for being a part of Team Hustle over the years and helping build this show over the years:

In our previous episode, we caught up with a former guest to talk about his own mental health journey this year. Well in today’s episode, we’re keeping up with the #MentalHealthHustle as you meet Katie Miles. Katie is a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist who offers individual, couples, and family therapy, and she is also the co-founder of HabitBetter, the website & app that is designed for building life-changing habits.
Katie helps Daniel and Michael unpack the YEAR that has been 2020. A year that many could sum up in one word: LOSS. No matter where you may be listening to us from today, we’ve all been going through an extremely difficult year. At the time of this episode's release, over 283,000 people have died from the coronavirus in the United States, and worldwide we have lost a staggering 1.54 million people. Locally in Los Angeles, on December 8th we had over 10,000 new cases confirmed, the highest number of cases since the beginning of the pandemic. Many of you haven’t been able to see your closest friends or family as you’ve made the sacrifice of not seeing those you love to ensure their safety. Perhaps you are one of the many thousands of people who have lost their financial security due to the sheer loss of jobs in this country, and for many, the loss of that financial support means a loss of purpose.
Katie Miles shares how we can cope with this sense of loss and how to navigate transitional periods. She then clarifies the differences between grief and depression. Our co-host Michael Lutheran revisits his experiences facing depression after sustaining a head injury during Season One of HHP, and Daniel shares his observations of the growth that has been made. Katie Miles then shares news about the website and app she has helped develop with her brother, Sean Miles, called Habitbetter - "the premier learning institute that turns centuries of research...into approachable courses for creating habits to meet personal goals."

In Episode 100 (!!!) we're continuing the important discussions of 2020 with returning guest from Season 2, Gregory Crafts. In Episode 76, Greg and his wife Jenn shared with us their journey into the LA Theatre scene and the hustle of not only creating and running your own theatre company but also managing theatre venues in Hollywood. Now in 2020, theatres like Studio-Stage have had to close indefinitely until the COVID-19 coronavirus is under control. Like many of you, Greg is an artist and an entrepreneur, but the events of this year have forced him to adapt. As he openly shares with us, it has been no easy task, and the toll it's taken on his mental health is one that I believe we can all relate to. But what’s more, is that Greg shares with us the power of sharing our experiences to uplift others and finding pleasure and joy in the simple pleasures of life to get us through this difficult time.
In our previous episode we highlighted the “Election Hustle” with the Executive Director of the LA Democratic Party, Drexel Heard, and Activist/Singer Malynda Hale, and since the release of that episode we experienced the longest Election Week ever but in the end it’s official that Joe Biden and Kamala Harris will be our next President and Vice President. We'll share our reactions about this incredible news in our 2020 Finale in a couple of episodes – but those of you who voted, who mobilized, who volunteered, who had the difficult conversations with your families, friends, and communities, who donated, who protested, who hustled and helped register others to make their voice heard – THANK YOU for participating in this election the secured the largest turnout in a US election ever!

This week, we are honored to welcome the Executive Director of the Los Angeles Democratic Party, Drexel Heard and Singer, Songwriter and Activist Malynda Hale to the show. Daniel, Malynda and Drexel discuss the what "Defund the Police" truly means, systemic racism, what it means to be an "ally" to the Black Lives Matter movement, and how we can grow from our past. Drexel shares the important Propositions on the ballot in Los Angeles and how we must look at our politicians as humans, not perfect statues. This is an intense, meaningful and informative chat you do not want to miss.
In 2018, a record number of people voted in the U.S. Midterm Elections. Now, in 2020, we are on pace to break the record again, in an Election that, if eligible, you can and should take part in. It's been said over and over again, but this may be one of the most important, if not, THE most important Election of your lifetime. Not just on a National level but also on a state and local level. Every 2 and 4 years we get the opportunity to choose: the path this country takes, how we advance as a nation. We vote for the future of our economy, our planet, our sustainability on the planet and for the equality of all people.
So please, forget the candidates for a moment and just think of your family, your friends, your neighbors and the others waiting to see what their future holds. Don't vote just for a candidate but vote for their futures. We get to vote to save lives, make things better, to look at ourselves, admit our past imperfections and learn from them. We get to choose not to ignore our awfulness of the past, but to embrace it as a fire for change. Black Lives Matter, Gender Equality, LGBTQ+ Equality, Global Warming, the almost 230,000+ lives lost and those who are still suffering due to this once in a century pandemic. This year we vote for the soul of a nation, we vote to save lives, for love, kindness and empathy. 2020 has been immensely challenging, but today we have the chance to embrace hope and the "better angels of our good nature".

Today in Episode 96, Team Hustle celebrates the many wins and changes that 2019 brought to Hollywood Hustle Podcast and to our hosts, Daniel Tuttel and Michael Lutheran. Together they look back on all of the inspiring and incredible guests they had the opportunity to interview this past year, how they've incorporated the lessons learned into their daily hustle and ultimately how much this show has grown over 3 seasons.
Daniel and Michael then introduce two NEW members joining Team Hustle - Cate Cassidy and Erik Waldman. Cate and Erik have been working behind-the-scenes for the last few months and we're so excited to finally introduce them to YOU, our League of Hustle. They share what they love most about the show, some of their favorite interviews from this past year and what they hope to gain by joining this group of creative entrepreneurs. The team then rejoices in celebrating each others' victories made over the past year and what they hope to achieve in 2020.
Finally, after several weeks of discussing BIG changes coming to the show, Team Hustle opens up about the future of the podcast and the Hollywood Hustle brand. Not only will Season Four be amazing - it's probably going to be very different. Daniel and Michael always viewed Hollywood Hustle as more than just a podcast, and in 2020, they look to establish a foundation to make us THE resource and "guide map" for all creatives and creative entrepreneurs seeking to establish their careers in Hollywood and the entertainment industry. What will it look like? How will the podcast change and grow? These are the questions (and many more) that Daniel and Michael share with their new team members.
But one thing is clear is that none of this - all 90 + guest interviews, countless Side Hustles plus Team Hustle episodes, career changes, and hundreds of hours going into the production of this show - none of it would have been possible, without the support from YOU our League of Hustle. Your messages of support, encouragement and informing us how our show has inspires you and your creative journey is what keeps driving us forward into this (exciting) unknown venture of embracing this path of entrepreneurship. This will be our last episode for some time, BUT WE WILL BE BACK.
Be sure to subscribe/follow our podcast to keep up to date when we release updates of the work we're doing behind the scenes to prep Season Four and beyond. Until then, we have over 100 released episodes for you to listen to and learn from (including our most recent interview with Singer/Songwriter/Activist/Podcaster Malynda Hale). We'll continue to be here to support your journey so please be sure to reach out if you have any questions about something you heard on the episode or need advice as you're navigating your path.

Welcome back from Thanksgiving break! We're thrilled to bring you our final guest interview for Season Three, and what better way than to sit down with someone who is a TRUE multi-hyphenate talent: Malynda Hale! In brief, some of Malynda's hustles include being a Singer, Songwriter, Co-Owner of a Music Agency and Indie Record Label, Podcast host of #WeNeedToTalk, a Social Justice Activist, a Worship Leader...and more!
"I just automatically saw that if I got too comfortable here I didn't think I was going to be able to achieve the goals I had."
Malynda's journey into the Hollywood Hustle began when she received a double major in Opera & Musical Theatre from Azusa University, and after living and performing in Los Angeles for only 2 years, she moved to New York City and then Chicago for a number of years and shares the differences between these three major markets. We also break down her introduction to music and what her preparation process for performing is like.
"I think we need to just be happy of our own things and our own accomplishments, and what's meant to be ours will be ours in our own time and what's meant to be somebody else's will be their's...Turn all of that off - mind your business, tend to your garden, and do the best that you're supposed to be doing."
Malynda shares her perspective about the danger many artists face of comparing themselves to other's successes, and Michael opens up about dealing with that from an actor's perspective and his approach of "Practicing Gratitude" to celebrating others' success leads to a more positive Hustle. Malynda then defines what the "Hollywood Hustle" means to her, of how it is the constant fight to establish yourself in some way and to make an impact. Michael then dives into a discussion with Malynda about #WeNeedToTalk, in which she and her co-host Karmel Humphrey dive into deeper conversations that go beyond social media about current events, hot topics in politics at large. Michael share's a clip from #WeNeedToTalk to give listeners a preview of what kind of conversation League of Hustle could expect to hear on Malynda's show. Team Hustle and Malynda talk about the role artists play in the world of politics, and Malynda shares the many ways people can create change in their communities.
"There are just endless opportunities to give back in that way. People can't feel afraid to go forward and do things.

Happy Thanksgiving!
In this Side Hustle, Daniel and Michael check back in from after our previous episode. Last week, Team Hustle was feeling the stress of change in their individual hustles as well as with Hollywood Hustle Podcast. This week, they celebrate the positive outlook they share for not only Season 4 of this show but for the incredible opportunities they hope to provide the League of Hustle and anyone else out there looking to strike their own path to achieve their dreams of being a creative entrepreneur!
Michael shares a preview of next week's interview with guest Malynda Hale. If there is anyone who personifies the "Hollywood Hustle" spirit - Malynda Hale is that person! She is a Singer/Songwriter, Actress, Podcaster, Creative Entrepreneur, Social Justice Activist, and so much more! Malynda shares her thoughts on the major obstacle that many musicians and creatives encounter: the comparison game. "Why is my work not being seen by anyone else? Why did THAT person book the part?" The mind games that prevent us from embracing our own self-worth. Malynda describes just how important it is to "tend to your own garden" to find fulfillment along your path. Then, Michael asks her to define what "Hollywood Hustle" means to her? The answer will truly inspire you! Be sure to subscribe to our show so you can hear her entire interview next Tuesday, December 3rd.
Daniel and Michael then open up about what they are grateful for this Thanksgiving, celebrating their creative and personal wins in 2019. From Daniel's second child being born, Michael's recent wedding, to the friendship that is at the heart of this show, they cover it all. So make sure to grab some tissues because things get emotional! 😭😅
We wish all of our U.S. listeners a very Happy Thanksgiving. And to all, know that Team Hustle is thinking about you always.

Michael opens up about the details of his recent wedding, his mini-honeymoon, and readjusting back to the hustle of submitting for jobs and how the recent interview with Change Strategist Kristine Oller impacted the outlook of his environment.
Since Episode 1, Team Hustle has seen this show as a jumping off point, looking to build and expand the Hustle brand through several other medias. With 2020 fast approaching, Daniel and Michael want to give an inside look on what it feels like to prepare for that leap of faith with some big conversations that have started behind the scene about the future of Hollywood Hustle.
Next week, we'll resume the regularly scheduled preview of our upcoming interview with Malynda Hale as well as provide a special Thanksgiving message from Team Hustle!

What does it mean to be a Brilliant and Resilient Artist? In Episode 94, our host Daniel Tuttel sits down to speak with Change Strategist for Creative Professionals and Professional Organizer, Kristine Oller, to go over her career that spans over two decades. Kristine Oller specializes in offering guidance to smart, talented people who want to level-up and lead (but who know they are running on empty).
Kristine shares her journey of how her superpowers could not only be used for acting but to help creatives with their organization and mindset to ensure that they keep expanding. She breaks down the psychology of how a person's physical environment reflects what's going on in their inner lives and the differences between Messy vs. Organized. Kristine Oller shares the work she does as a Workshop Coach for her Mastermind group, Brilliant & Resilient, and Daniel shares his experiences attending a session and how the journey of an artist is so much more important, and fulfilling, than the ultimate destination.
Make sure to follow our podcast so that you can join our hosts, Daniel Tuttel and Michael Lutheran, next week for a Side Hustle where they update listeners about what's happening in their own journeys. Then, Michael will preview our next interview with Singer/Songwriter/Community Activist/Podcaster Malynda Hale!

Welcome League of Hustle! While you're out there rocking those auditions, hammering out pages to your next script, or driving to your day-job, have you ever thought to yourself "What if I launched my own side business to bring in more cash to fund my creative pursuits?" And then, just after you had an amazing idea for what that new stream of income could be, have you also immediately dashed those ideas to the curb because people told you that having a side hustle would distract you from your main hustle?!
This week Daniel Tuttel sits down with Change Strategist for Creative Professionals expert, Kristine Oller, to discuss the reasons why so many artists cast away their side hustle potential and explain why they should instead embrace their inner entrepreneurial spirit! What are the 3 Big Lies that most creatives tell themselves?
"If I have a side biz, people will think I'm less committed to my art."
"A side biz will hurt or overshadow my creative career."
"I already tried running a side biz and it didn't work."
Take out some pen and paper (or get your phones' Notes section ready) as Kristine Oller debunks each of these myths one-by-one while simultaneously proving how artists ARE entrepreneurs and how being a multi-hyphenate within your art is inescapable...and profitable!
Make sure to subscribe or follow our podcast so that you can download Daniel's full conversation with Kristine Oller next week in Episode 94 that will be released on Tuesday, November 12th!

In last week's episode, we re-introduced you to Brother/Sister horror filmmaking duo Ashley Mary & Todd Nunes! In Season One, we covered the Nunes Siblings journeys to Los Angeles, and how working together has lead to them working in a genre that inspired them to be involved in storytelling in the first place: horror movies. Past "Halloween Hustle" episodes include Halloween and The Conjuring, and since we just interviewed the cinematographer of the 2019 Child's Play, Brandon Uegama, we thought it was only fitting to watch the original 1988 version with Team Nunes!
We discuss some fun movie trivia while also catching up with Todd and Ashley Mary Nunes to see where their Hustle has taken them, and why they love stories about killer dolls so much. To really enjoy this episode make sure you're watching the film along with us - whether you stream it, play a DVD or VHS, you'll be able to watch the scenes as we dive into them.

Three years ago, we interviewed a fantastic duo, a brother/sister horror filmmaking team. First, we were lucky enough to interview the badass and talented actress and cosplayer, Ashley Mary Nunes to discuss her acting journey from acting in homemade horror films to eventually becoming a Scream Queen in such horror classics as All Through The House. Then through Ashley, we were able to sit down and discuss another awesome journey with her brother, Horror-film writer and director, Todd Nunes! With Todd we tracked his foray into the genre from creating horror-inspired plays at school to ultimately hitting the festival circuits with his original stories. After these fantastic podcast interviews, we started one of our first Hollywood Hustle traditions: our Annual #HalloweenHustle Horror Film Commentary episodes every Halloween with Team Hustle and Team Nunes! Year One we started with John Carpenter's classic "Halloween". Year Two saw James Wan's "The Conjuring" strike the podcast waves.
Next week we'll be releasing our third annual Halloween Commentary, featuring the original "Child's Play" and Ashley and Todd Nunes will be joining Daniel and Michael once more! Before we release the horror commentary, we wanted to re-introduce our longtime listeners as well as new listeners to Team Nunes, so we're sharing some of the best clips from both of their individual episodes. Ashley and Todd are perfect examples of the "Hollywood Hustle" spirit and are all about paving your own way in LA.
Here are some of the fun stories you'll be hearing today:
- A perfect example of just how small of a city Los Angeles truly is
- Ashley's and Todd's introduction to horror movies and what inspired them to dive further into the genre
- Ashley Nunes first role as a killer stuffed animal
- Powerful examples of why you need to choose to do what you love vs. Settling for what you don't want
- Todd Nunes recounting of how he filmed his first horror film SCARY LARRY immediately after graduating from film school and learning how to command a set as a director
PLUS CATCH SOME EXCITING NEWS ON TEAM HUSTLE:
- Our host Daniel Tuttel is expecting his second child TODAY on October 22nd! Send your warm wishes to him @DanielTuttel on Twitter/IG!
- Our co-host Michael Lutheran is getting married this week! Send congrats and advice to @MichaelLutheran on Twitter/IG!

“A Cinematographer is a visual psychiatrist, moving an audience...making them think the way you want them to think, painting pictures in the dark.”
This quote easily applies to our guest today, who helps create worlds in ways that bring a certain feeling and tone to their audience, the cinematographer or DP of shows like Riverdale and Katy Keene on the CW, The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina on Netflix and the most recent reboot film Child’s Play, we’re talking about Brendan Uegama.
We were lucky enough to meet Brendan when we interviewed Actress and Director Nicole G Leier and he agreed to come on the show. After traveling in Canada and New York we finally were able to sit down and chat. Brendan discusses his journey into cinematography, the skills that are a must to be successful, how to collaborate with a revolving door of directors for a series, while keeping the tone and look for the show consistent overall and protecting the work of the actors. He shares how he has adapted to and approached each project a bit differently and what it was like to take on a horror classic like Child’s Play and a horror icon like Chucky.
Brendan shares so much knowledge about a side of production that is seldom heard from, minus an awards speech here and there. We were incredibly excited to sit down with Brendan and learn more about how Cinematographers approach their work and move from project to project, world to world. This is a unique look into an important art form so let’s get to it
