Atlantis, it's a mythical city that some insist is real, and others say is completely a story. We trace the origins of the story, how it's evolved over time, and what we think it really is/could be. And if you've never heard of it, we talk about the even weirder lost continent of Lemuria.
It’s our second Halloween special! This time, we read ghost stories from places important to us, as well as read listener submissions! We have mystery, tragedy, and of course, history. We hope you enjoy them.
Maybe you know it from the 'Iliad', maybe you know it from hunky actors in a movie, maybe it's the image of a horse. One way or another, you've likely heard of Troy and the Trojan Horse. We peel back the Hollywood glamour to take a look at the many layers of the city of Troy, straddling both myth and history.
In the final part of our Pompeii series, the Trio look into how Pompeii was discovered after being lost for centuries. We also look at the excavation methods that are being used, and we hear Cassandra's mind slowly go insane from all the finds that came out of Pompeii over the last year.
In Part 2, we look at the day that ended Pompeii, the eruption of Mount Vesuvius. As a caution, we do discuss how people died, what their bodies tell us, and what could happen to modern Naples when Vesuvius erupts again.
We are back with Season 2! In our opener, we look at Pompeii when the ancient city was alive and thriving! Did it take too many takes for the episode to work? Yes. Are we excited to bring it to you? Also yes! Welcome back to History and Myths with the Trio (now with pronunciation guides!)
Cassandra and Sarah look at an odd mix of things today! It's the birthday of the inventor of the zipper, the death-day of one of Cassandra's favourite writers (things are so much clearer now...) and a king's ship proves why bigger isn't always better.
In today's mini-sode, Cassandra and Sarah look at the birthday of a doctor who's work could improve the lives of millions, the death of a bard we were forced to study in school (don't worry, no test!) and we raise a glass to the world's oldest active food law.
In episode 3 of our mini-series, Cassandra and Sarah bite into three pieces of history. The birth and life of Bettie Paige (who deserves her own full episode in the future!), the death of (un?)popular president Richard Nixon, and we add a touch of class by covering 'Swan Lake'. The history, of course. It may be better to watch real swans than watch us attempt ballet.
Sarah and Cassandra are back with another mini-sode! The birthdays of 2 queens are covered, the death of a Flemish surgeon who's invention has saved countless lives is honoured, and the publication of the world's most famous Nessie photo is remembered.
It's Cassandra and Sarah, bringing you a new mini-series as Michelle gets her laptop fixed! Join us as we cover one birth, one death, and one world event, things that don't fit our main format in a bite-sized. Today, we cover celebrate the birthday of gay rights activist George Takei, the death of celebrated author Bram Stoker, the controversial time of Pierre Trudeau as Prime Minister of Canada, and the Deepwater Horizon disaster.
In 2023 we came up with an idea to do a podcast. Of course, famous last words are ‘how hard can it be?’ Let us tell you, as well as other things we’ve learned while making this show. We laugh, share behind the scenes shenanigans and go over our plans for the future in this season end recap.

Running Late on the next two episodes we apologies! We will explain it in our end of season wrap up. I decided to release this episode on the anniversary of the day the Lutz family fled the house.
‘The Amityville Horror’ was reportedly based on two real events. We look at them, trying to tease out the Hollywood treatment and focus on the real horrors that happened. A special note that this episode does talk about the murders of children, although we try to address them as sensitively as possible.

Don’t anger the gods. A basic life rule that a few men decided didn’t apply to them. Good thing the gods would kindly remind them of their place in the universe.
