Keith Stewart called to the Bar in 1993. He has a wide experience of criminal trials and criminal appeals, acting for the defence and the prosecution. He has conducted trials involving charges of murder, culpable homicide, terrorism, misuse of drugs, and sexual offences, including those of an historical nature, and carried out in care homes and with particularly vulnerable complainers and accused. In addition to criminal work he has advised recently in matters relating to intellectual property and contracts.
He conducts lectures for professional audiences on a range of topics, which includes aspects of criminal law, damages for personal injuries, and the law of contract.

John specialises in defending complex criminal trials prosecuted in the High Court of Justiciary and Sheriff Court.
He has defended health and safety prosecutions involving death and injury in the course of employment; fatal road traffic collisions; financial prosecutions and other areas of regulatory crime. He has extensive experience of lengthy and complex criminal trials including murder and sexual offences. He also has experience of Fatal Accident Inquiries.
He was appointed as an advocate depute in 2007. In 2009 he became a senior advocate depute and in 2011 was appointed to the role of Assistant Principal Crown Counsel. He returned to private practice in 2015 and since then has become one of the most widely instructed senior counsel at the Scottish Criminal Bar.

She has built up a strong Appeal Court practice, with an emphasis on constitutional, human rights and sentencing questions. She has attended the Privy Council and Supreme Court on a number of occasions in relation to cases of general public importance to the law of Scotland.At the 2013 Law Awards of Scotland she received a "Special Recognition Award" for her contribution to legal thinking over the past decade.
