52 - THE UNION'S "INFANT" HERO WHO WOULDN'T GO HOME | Johnny Clem (9yrs) | Civil War *VETERAN'S DAY SPECIAL*
In April of 1861, the War Between the States broke out.   Nine-year-old Johnny Lincoln Clem ran away from home to join the Union Army. But Johnny found the Army not particularly interested in recruiting a boy.   The commander of the 3rd Ohio Regiment told him he “wasn't enlisting infants just yet,” and sent him home. Johnny, then headed to the 22nd Michigan Regiment nearby.   Determined, Johnny tagged along and demonstrated his skill as a drummer boy so professionally the commander allowed him to stay with the regiment.   At the same time, a fourteen-year-old boy joined the Union Army in late 1861, Company D, 8th Regiment, Indiana Volunteers. What he fought for was “to free the blacks” and “save the Union.”   His name was George Preston Nock. He was my Great-Grandfather.   Their willingness to make the ultimate sacrifice is why this nation is what it is today. It’s why we’ve become an Ensign of Liberty to the world, that Shining City on A Hill that President Reagan spoke of so reverently.   These two related, true stories that overlap—representing so many heroes, as well—show us why we remember Veterans Day this November. . 51 - THE ORPHAN WHO LONGED FOR WEST POINT | Sgt. Francis Currey (Army) | WWII
As an orphan in the 1930s, Francis (Frank) Sherman Currey often stared across the Hudson River at the US Military Academy at West Point standing high on the hills overlooking the river.   As he watched the men march, he longed to join with them, to be accepted into this prestigious institution. Still, he knew that because of his poor, disadvantaged life, such a dream could never be achieved.   But this was no ordinary boy. Francis (Frank) Currey would not let his poverty and lack of education deter him from serving his country, especially when America was attacked in World War II.   Joining the Army, Frank soon found himself in Europe with the 30th Infantry Division and facing the full might of Nazi Germany in the Battle of the Bulge.   The men of Frank’s platoon fully expected to be annihilated by the large, advancing German 1st SS Panzer Division. But in the heat of battle Sergeant Frank Currey refused to retreat but did what he had to in order to survive.   This orphaned kid from New York gathered his weapons, and moving quickly, did what no one thought possible… . 50 - THE GREAT ESCAPE FROM LIBBY PRISON | Lt. Jacob Merritt (Union Prisoner) | Civil War
Crouched deep underground within the bowels of the massive building, inhaling putrid air without complaint, and in the meager light of a single candle, the Union prisoners worked with a purpose. . Among them was LIEUTENANT JACOB MERRITT, just twenty-three-years-old. . Jacob lay on his belly in the cramped tunnel, chipping at the earthen wall, the opening just twenty inches wide. The tunnel began in the new kitchen. . The prisoners moved the stove and dislodging select bricks allowing access inside the chimney providing access below to the old, sealed off kitchen in the basement. But this was also known as “Rat Hell.” . Inch by painful inch, the tunnel grew longer. From the digging, Jacob’s hands blistered, his fingernails split. . Digging without his clothes (to keep any sign of dirt from them) the aggressive rats plagued him, biting his bare skin, running over his legs, back, even his hair. . But his passion to escape drove him forward… . 49 - THE SPY CONFEDERATES NEVER SUSPECTED… | Elizabeth “Crazy Bet” Van Lew (Union Spy) | Civil War
Elizabeth Van Lew was determined Richmond would fall, the sooner the better. . Beneath her basket of groceries were secret Union dispatches written skillfully in invisible ink, folded innocuously like bookmarks between sheets of household shopping accounts. . Two Confederate soldiers strolled past, rifles slung lazily across their shoulders. . The soldiers tipped their hats and moved on, unsuspecting that the well-known local woman known as “Crazy Bet,” was in fact one of President Lincoln’s most devastating spies. . Who was this daring woman who fully understood she would be immediately hung if caught as a spy for the North? . But Elizabeth Van Lew viewed the Confederate rebellion as an abomination, an affront to the sacrifice of America’s Founding Fathers, men and women who gave their lives establishing a God-centered, free republic. . So, when starving Union prisoners began to fill Richmond’s disease-infested Libby Prison to overflowing, she knew what she had to do... . 48 - "WE HAVE MET THE ENEMY... AND HE IS OURS!" | Oliver Hazard Perry (U.S. Navy Commander) | War of 1812
Morning of September 10, 1813. The British naval squadron under Commander Robert Harriet Barclay, advanced with the confidence and skill of the world’s most powerful navy.   Facing them that day was a young American naval officer just *27-years-old*... Oliver Hazard Perry.   As the two fleets closed distance near Put-In-Bay, Ohio, Commander Perry’s men braced themselves.   Most were farmers and frontiersmen. Many were boys. Almost all had never seen naval combat. Some were freed African American slaves.   Perry had barely a small cadre of ten experienced naval officers, not hardly enough to man his small fleet without volunteer help. Perry’s flagship, the USS Lawrence, bore the brunt of British fire. Masts splintered, rigging collapsed, and blood flowed on the deck.   Of Commander Perry’s crew totaling 103, nearly 80 were killed or wounded. The deck was a scene of bloody carnage. In such a hopeless situation, most commanders would have surrendered the fleet.   Instead, Commander Perry made a decision that would etch his name forever in the history of this great nation...   I’m Rick Robison and this is the HEROES FOR FREEDOM Podcast.   **Want more incredible stories like these for your home??** ---> HEROES FOR FREEDOM MANUALS (Volumes 1-3) - Purchase on Amazon!   OTHER EPISODES YOU MAY LIKE: 47 - THE CHRISTIAN SCIENTISTS WHO SAVED OUR WORLD | Sir Isaac Newton + More | The Enlightenment 35 - WASHINGTON'S MIRACLE MAN (Part 1/3) | Col. 47 - THE CHRISTIAN SCIENTISTS WHO SAVED OUR WORLD | Sir Isaac Newton + More | The Enlightenment
The Enlightenment is often painted as an age when cold science triumphed over devotion to God.   This message of today’s Secular-Progressive World is anything but true.   Many of the greatest minds of that age were men whose Christian faith shaped their scientific genius.   They did not see their work as dismantling God’s place in the cosmos but where the veil of creation was peeled back just enough for these men to glimpse the craftsmanship of the Creator.   For heaven’s sake, virtually all scientists of the “Enlightenment” or “Age of Discovery” were solid, practicing Christians. More so, a full 25 percent were clergy members!   Even today, 83 percent of Nobel Peace Prize recipients identify as Christian or come from Christian nations of the West.   For Newton, Boyle, Kepler, Pascal, Linnaeus, and Faraday, the research laboratory and the church were, in truth, identical. Each a house of worship where the glory of God and His love is revealed to bless a struggling world.   I’m Rick Robison and this is the HEROES FOR FREEDOM Podcast.   **Want more incredible stories like these for your home??** ---> HEROES FOR FREEDOM MANUALS (Volumes 1-3) - Purchase on Amazon!   OTHER EPISODES YOU MAY LIKE: 46 - THE CHRISTIAN ("MORMON") BOY WHO STOOD AGAINST HITLER | Helmuth Hubener (Anti-Nazi Resistance) | WWII 42 - A PRAYER TO SAVE AMERICA | Benjamin Franklin (Founding Father) | Revolutionary War 27 - "THE HAMMER" WHO SAVED CHRISTIANITY | Charles Martel ("Knights of Our Lord" Leader) | 700s A.D.     ADDITIONAL RESOURCES: -Join our newsletter and get a free gift! - Click Here -Contact us at: Rick@TheLegacyGen.com -Find our video episodes on YouTube   SIR ISAAC NEWTON / ROBERT BOYLE / JOHANNES KEPLER / BLAISE PASCAL / CAROLUS LINNAEUS / MICHAEL FARADAY / CHRISTIANITY / CREATION / FAITH / RELIGION / SECULAR PROGRESSIVISM / JESUS CHRIST

46 - THE CHRISTIAN ("MORMON") BOY WHO STOOD AGAINST HITLER | Helmuth Hubener (Anti-Nazi Resistance) | WWII
Helmuth Gunther Hubener grew up in Germany during Hitler’s rise to power. Helmuth was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, sometimes called “Mormons.”   Helmuth could see that his beloved Germany was being destroyed systematically from within. He and his friends felt compelled to tell the people of Germany what was really going on.   So, with a borrowed typewriter, they produced short pamphlets and passed them out, warning everyone about the bad things the Nazi secret police and the military were doing. Even at a young age, Helmuth understood that the Nazis were an evil, racist, totalitarian movement bent on world domination.   But the Gestapo, the secret police, was on his trail and it was not likely he and his young friends could escape the terror rushing at them…   I’m Rick Robison and this is the HEROES FOR FREEDOM Podcast.   **Want more incredible stories like these for your home??** ---> HEROES FOR FREEDOM MANUALS (Volumes 1-3) - Purchase on Amazon!   OTHER EPISODES YOU MAY LIKE: 45 - SILENCING OUR MODERN ST. 45 - SILENCING OUR MODERN ST. STEPHEN | Charlie Kirk (Political Activist) | 2025
We admire Charlie Kirk. He sacrificed himself for his faith.   Two thousand years ago, shortly after the crucifixion of Jesus Christ, a young disciple by the name of Stephen, also spoke for truth and willingly gave his life for the faith.   Both Stephen and Charlie Kirk were young and exceptionally dedicated to the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Both spoke truth in the public forum before all who would listen. And in the end, we know, both met violent deaths at the hands of those who passionately hated the truth.   Standing with Jerusalem’s leaders two millennia ago, as Stephen was executed, was a young man named Saul. Saul was struck by the sublime courage that Stephen exhibited. Saul became Paul, the greatest Christian missionary who ever lived.   I am certain that someone, perhaps many, who witnessed Charlie Kirk’s martyrdom will be inspired by the Spirit to help bring a new, and desperately needed, Christian revival to our struggling and divided world.   I’m Rick Robison and this is the HEROES FOR FREEDOM Podcast.   (Image Credit: Gage Skidmore, CC BY-SA 4.0 httpscreativecommons.orglicensesby-sa4.0, via Wikimedia Commons)   **Want more incredible stories like these for your home??** ---> HEROES FOR FREEDOM MANUALS (Volumes 1-3) - Purchase on Amazon!   OTHER EPISODES YOU MAY LIKE: 44 - INSPIRING THE AMERICAN SOUNDTRACK | Stephen Foster (Composer) | Civil War 24 - YOUNGEST U.S. OFFICER IN WW2... 44 - INSPIRING THE AMERICAN SOUNDTRACK | Stephen Foster (Composer) | Civil War
Stephen Collins Foster was the creator and author of what many call the American Soundtrack.   We were a young nation at the time, a divided nation, an angry nation. The tunes that escaped his troubled heart offered hope at a time when many thought the United States would fracture and fall.   His music captured America’s sorrows, but also its joys and beauties. His work revealed the mighty paradox in the American soul. One that, in the ancient words of Moses, “proclaimed liberty throughout the land” while nurturing the ugly institution of slavery.   As an avowed Abolitionist, Stephen Foster hoped his music would represent America’s black population sympathetically.   His melodies today remain iconic: Oh! Susanna, Camptown Races, My Old Kentucky Home, Beautiful Dreamer, Old Folks at Home, Jeanie with the Light Brown Hair, Hard Times Come Again No More, and hundreds more.   But behind his timeless assembly of Americana lurked a frail man haunted by inner demons, social turmoil, and deep personal tragedy.   I’m Rick Robison and this is the HEROES FOR FREEDOM Podcast.   **Want more incredible stories like these for your home??** ---> HEROES FOR FREEDOM MANUALS (Volumes 1-3) - Purchase on Amazon!   OTHER EPISODES YOU MAY LIKE: 43 - CREATING AMERICA'S BATTLE HYMN | Julia Ward Howe (Poet/Abolitionist) | Civil War 39 - "THE LITTLE LADY WHO STARTED THIS GREAT WAR" | Harriet Beecher Stowe (Author) | Civil War 21 - OUR HERO WHO WAS "PRONE TO WANDER" | Robert Robinson (Pastor/Hymnist) | 1700s   ADDITIONAL RESOURCES: -Join our newsletter and get a free gift! - Click Here -Contact us at: Rick@TheLegacyGen.com -Find our video episodes on YouTube   AMERICAN MUSIC / AMERICANA / STEPHEN FOSTER / FATHER OF AMERICAN MUSIC / CIVIL WAR / SLAVERY / ABOLITION / KENTUCKY HOME

43 - CREATING AMERICA'S BATTLE HYMN | Julia Ward Howe (Poet/Abolitionist) | Civil War
That night in Washington, D.C., towards dawn, Julia Ward Howe could not sleep, so she arose and sat at a nearby writing desk.   She related this pivotal event later:   “I awoke in the early morning twilight; and as I lay waiting for the dawn, the long lines of a poem began to twine themselves into my mind. Having thought out all the stanzas, I said to myself, ‘I must get up and write these verses down, lest I fall asleep again and forget them!’ So, I sprang out of bed and…scrawled the verses almost without looking at the paper.”   And The Battle Hymn of the Republic was born, which brought President Abraham Lincoln to tears.   And from its publication, the Northern Free States began to win.   More so, the Civil War, in the North, became a war to free all men from bondage…the power of a Godly anthem to inspire hearts and minds everywhere.   I’m Rick Robison and this is the HEROES FOR FREEDOM Podcast.   **Want more incredible stories like these for your home??** ---> HEROES FOR FREEDOM MANUALS (Volumes 1-3) - Purchase on Amazon!   OTHER EPISODES YOU MAY LIKE: 42 - A PRAYER TO SAVE AMERICA | Benjamin Franklin (Founding Father) | Revolutionary War 39 - "THE LITTLE LADY WHO STARTED THIS GREAT WAR" | Harriet Beecher Stowe (Author) | Civil War 21 - OUR HERO WHO WAS "PRONE TO WANDER" | Robert Robinson (Pastor/Hymnist) | 1700s   ADDITIONAL RESOURCES: -Join our newsletter and get a free gift! - Click Here -Contact us at: Rick@TheLegacyGen.com -Find our video episodes on YouTube   CIVIL WAR / JULIA WARD HOWE / LINCOLN / UNION ARMY / AMERICAN ANTHEM / ABOLITIONIST / POET / MOTHER / INSPIRATION

42 - A PRAYER TO SAVE AMERICA | Benjamin Franklin (Founding Father) | Revolutionary War
That critical summer of 1787 the delegates to the Constitutional Convention were on the path to failing miserably.   For a month the delegates had argued over a forgettable list of ego-driven proposals, accomplishing nothing.   Benjamin Franklin spoke addressing the head of the Congress:   “I have lived, sir, a long time, and the longer I live the more convincing proofs I see of this truth, that God governs in the affairs of men. …If a sparrow cannot fall to the ground without His notice, is it probable an empire can rise without His aid?   "We seem to be growing further apart as passions rise. There is too much at stake. I therefore beg leave to move that henceforth prayers imploring the assistance of heaven…be held in this assembly every morning before we proceed to business...”   God answered that humble acknowledgement of the power of prayer. The Constitution of the United States was born.   I’m Rick Robison and this is the HEROES FOR FREEDOM Podcast.   **Want more incredible stories like these for your home??** ---> HEROES FOR FREEDOM MANUALS (Volumes 1-3) - Purchase on Amazon!   OTHER EPISODES YOU MAY LIKE: 41 - AMERICA'S FATHERLESS, ORPHANED HERO | Alexander Hamilton (Founding Father) | Revolutionary War 29 - ROMANCING THE REVOLUTION | Abigail & John Adams | Revolutionary War 10 - DID THEY JUST SIGN THEIR OWN DEATH SENTENCE?? | The Founding Fathers | Revolutionary War   ADDITIONAL RESOURCES: -Join our newsletter and get a free gift! - Click Here -Contact us at: Rick@TheLegacyGen.com -Find our video episodes on YouTube

41 - AMERICA'S FATHERLESS, ORPHANED HERO | Alexander Hamilton (Founding Father) | Revolutionary War
The Battle of Yorktown raged.   A battle that would decide if the new, young United States of America would survive.   Our hero that day, (October 10, 1781), would lead a desperate assault on the British forward position known as Redoubt #10. In bloody hand-to-hand combat, he and his devoted men turned the tide of battle and won one of the greatest victories in American history.   His name was Alexander Hamilton. And odds were that he should have died alone and in despair on the disease-infested island where he was born.   But Alexander showed us that no matter how hopeless our circumstances appear, our future is in our hands. This was the legacy he wanted most to leave behind: That it’s up to each of us to determine what our future will bring.   That’s the miracle, and the Great American Dream of Alexander Hamilton.   I’m Rick Robison and this is the HEROES FOR FREEDOM Podcast.   **Want more incredible stories like these for your home??** ---> HEROES FOR FREEDOM MANUALS (Volumes 1-3) - Purchase on Amazon!   OTHER EPISODES YOU MAY LIKE: 40 - 3 MUST-SEE MOVIES FOR SEEKERS OF TRUTH | WWII, Civil War, Vietnam War 35 - WASHINGTON'S MIRACLE MAN (Part 1/3) | Col. 40 - 3 MUST-SEE MOVIES FOR SEEKERS OF TRUTH | WWII, Civil War, Vietnam War
*MY 3 FAVORITE MOVIES FOR SEEKERS AFTER TRUTH* THE GREAT ESCAPE (1963): What impresses me most about The Great Escape are the many examples of resilience and loyalty shown by these desperate men. The Great Escape is the opportunity for modern, pampered, well-fed American audiences, people like myself, to see what The Greatest Generation accomplished under hopeless conditions. In my mind, you will not find a better true story about fortitude, self-sacrifice, and valor than The Great Escape.   LINCOLN (2012): This is the true story of how an exhausted and disrespected Lincoln musters the will to fight on and pass the 13th Amendment abolishing slavery, showing his ability to accomplish what most thought impossible. Incredibly you feel yourself standing alongside this divinely inspired American hero President Lincoln. It’s a must-see.   FORREST GUMP (1994): The story of Forrest Gump, to me, is the quintessential story of faith, sacrifice, and courage under fire. It’s the story of unconditional love. It teaches about forgiveness and the power of goodness. It demonstrates masculine character too often ignored or denigrated today. Most of all it shows, if you pay attention, the very real difference between intelligence and wisdom—which are NOT the same thing, not even close.   I’m Rick Robison and this is the HEROES FOR FREEDOM Podcast.   **Want more incredible stories like these for your home??** ---> HEROES FOR FREEDOM MANUALS (Volumes 1-3) - Purchase on Amazon!   OTHER EPISODES YOU MAY LIKE: 39 - "THE LITTLE LADY WHO STARTED THIS GREAT WAR" | Harriet Beecher Stowe (Author) | Civil War 18 - DO YOU KNOW THIS GREAT AMERICAN HERO?? | Charles Buchinsky (Actor & Air Force Gunner) | WWII to 2003 07 - DID YOU KNOW *THIS* ABOUT OUR BEAUTIFUL AMERICAN PATRIOT?! | Betty White (Army & Actress) | WWII to 2021   ADDITIONAL RESOURCES: -Join our newsletter and get a free gift! - Click Here -Contact us at: Rick@TheLegacyGen.com -Find our video episodes on YouTube   WWII / STEVE McQUEEN / CHARLES BRONSON / JAMES GARNER / PRISON CAMP / COURAGE / SELF-SACRIFICE / GRIT / ESCAPE / TUNNELING / LINCOLN / SLAVERY / 13TH AMENDMENT / TOMMY LEE JONES / CIVIL WAR / ABOLITION / EMANCIPATION / ASSASSINATION / FORREST GUMP / COURAGE / LOVE / LOYALTY / VIET NAM / ARMY / FATHERHOOD / KINDNESS / DIVINE HELP

39 - "THE LITTLE LADY WHO STARTED THIS GREAT WAR" | Harriet Beecher Stowe (Author) | Civil War
President Abraham Lincoln, when meeting Harriet Beecher Stowe for the first time was reported to have said to her, with a twinkle in his eyes: “So you’re the little lady who started this great war.”   And she did, writing the first million-plus selling American novel—UNCLE TOM'S CABIN—about a kind and Christ-like slave named “Tom,” the novel showing graphically the brutalities of slavery during the harsh days of the Fugitive Slave Act, the years running up the American Civil War, a period that nearly saw the destruction of our country.   Our hero, Harriet Beecher Stowe and her novel had a powerful influence upon the conscience of America. The novel’s historical impact grabbed a sleeping nation and shook it awake, helping start a war that would not only unite America and make it stronger, but more so, end the institution of slavery once and for all.   I’m Rick Robison and this is the HEROES FOR FREEDOM Podcast.   **Want more incredible stories like these for your home??** ---> HEROES FOR FREEDOM MANUALS (Volumes 1-3) - Purchase on Amazon!     OTHER EPISODES YOU MAY LIKE: 38 - THE ALAMO'S DIVINE SECRET | The Battle of the Alamo | 1836 28 - SHE SAVED HUNDREDS... | Harriet Tubman (Abolitionist) | Underground Railroad/Civil War 22 - ALLURING AMERICAN ACTRESS... 38 - THE ALAMO'S DIVINE SECRET | The Battle of the Alamo | 1836
Too often today the Alamo is depicted as a bunch of American white-supremacists who oppressed the local population, hoping to “steal Mexican lands.”   This is tiring, simplistic, and woefully unfair. History rewritten.   Settlers in Texas were promised freedom and independence by the Mexican Government. In the spring of 1836, those who fortified the Alamo against the dictator General Santa Anna were patriots, many born and raised in Texas, native sons. And they understood they might not survive yet willingly stayed and fought to the death.   The Alamo proves the point. Americans will die on their feet rather than live on their knees.   May we remember the Alamo for what it truly stood for—and stands for today. These were free men and women. Never shackled. Fighting to survive just one more day, struggling to subdue a harsh world and burying their children along the way.   Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness means everything to Texans as it does to all traditional Americans. It’s God-given. And it’s to die for.   I’m Rick Robison and this is the HEROES FOR FREEDOM Podcast.   Mentioned in this episode: https://news.osu.edu/when-europeans-were-slaves--research-suggests-white-slavery-was-much-more-common-than-previously-believed/   **Want more incredible stories like these for your home??** ---> HEROES FOR FREEDOM MANUALS (Volumes 1-3) - Purchase on Amazon!     OTHER EPISODES YOU MAY LIKE: 37 - WASHINGTON'S MIRACLE MAN (Part 3/3) | Col. 37 - WASHINGTON'S MIRACLE MAN (Part 3/3) | Col. John Glover (Marblehead Mariners Commander) | Revolutionary War
On the Pennsylvanian shore of the Delaware River, Washington conceived a desperate plan—to cross back over the river into New Jersey and attack a Hessian garrison of 1,200 men. The Hessians were German mercenaries fighting for the British.   Throughout that frigid night, Glover and his Marbleheaders rowed Washington’s Army across the ice-choked river, thought to be an impossible feat and attacked the Hessian Garrison, killing 100 and taking 900 Hessian soldiers as prisoners.   When the battle ended, General Washington turned to the doctor for his men, General Hugh Mercer, saying: “Hugh, we won a great victory today, but tell me…how many of my boys did I lose? How much did it cost?”   Dr. Mercer looked at his tired, aging commander, saying: “Sir, we didn’t lose any, only a few wounded.”   Washington dropped down on a nearby stool, saying softly: “Oh Lord, my God, another miracle for my little army.”   And there we have Miracle Number 3.   I’m Rick Robison and this is the HEROES FOR FREEDOM Podcast.     **Want more incredible stories like these for your home??** ---> HEROES FOR FREEDOM MANUALS (Volumes 1-3) - Purchase on Amazon!     OTHER EPISODES YOU MAY LIKE: 36 - WASHINGTON'S MIRACLE MAN (Part 2/3) | Col. 36 - WASHINGTON'S MIRACLE MAN (Part 2/3) | Col. John Glover (Marblehead Mariners Commander) | Revolutionary War
John Glover and his Marblehead Mariners, with seemingly impossible stealth, evacuated Washington’s entire army, all 9,000 men, across the East River onto Manhattan Island in nine hours during a single night!   How that happened became known as the Miracle of the Fog, for just as the British were preparing to attack, the river and shoreline were blanketed in a thick fog that “came out of nowhere” so that “men could not see ten feet ahead.”   By dawn, and then into midmorning, the mysterious fogbank suddenly disappeared, but not until every American and their weapons and equipment, were safely evacuated.   The British commander, General Howe, was at first disbelieving, then he seethed with frustration. He’d had Washington in his grasp, and just like that, he’d slipped away.   But to General Washington, he knew who to thank. For God had given him all they needed, the perfect cover Colonel Glover’s Marblehead Mariners would exploit the fullest.   I’m Rick Robison and this is the HEROES FOR FREEDOM Podcast.     **Want more incredible stories like these for your home??** ---> HEROES FOR FREEDOM MANUALS (Volumes 1-3) - Purchase on Amazon!     OTHER EPISODES YOU MAY LIKE: 35 - WASHINGTON'S MIRACLE MAN (Part 1/3) | Col. 35 - WASHINGTON'S MIRACLE MAN (Part 1/3) | Col. John Glover (Marblehead Mariners Commander) | Revolutionary War
John Glover and his Marblehead Mariners, with seemingly impossible stealth, evacuated Washington’s entire army, all 9,000 men, across the East River onto Manhattan Island in nine miraculous hours during a SINGLE night!   But it would never have happened without one often ignored event which I see as nothing short of divine intervention. For just as the British were preparing to attack, the river and shores were quickly blanketed in a thick fog that “men could not see ten feet ahead.”   At least two more miracles would follow that dark and deadly year of 1776. And in the midst of the fray was found Colonel John Glover, a blunt and plainspoken American who few people liked, but everyone respected.   Thank you, John Glover, for your sacrifice and determination to never place personal gain ahead of the creation and preservation of the most important Republic in history.   Your Legacy will live as long as there are voices free to tell your story and to proclaim your divinely guided victories.   I’m Rick Robison and this is the HEROES FOR FREEDOM Podcast.     **Want more incredible stories like these for your home??** ---> HEROES FOR FREEDOM MANUALS (Volumes 1-3) - Purchase on Amazon!     OTHER EPISODES YOU MAY LIKE: 34 - THE DAY AN ANGEL APPEARED IN THE WHITE HOUSE | Rebecca Pomroy (Army Nurse) | Civil War 33 - THE AMERICAN REVOLUTION: THE MOST WORTHY AND JUSTIFIED IN HISTORY | *4th of July Special* 32 - THE PURE SON OF LIBERTY | Thaddeus Kosciuszko (Military Engineer) | Revolutionary War   ADDITIONAL RESOURCES: -Join our newsletter and get a free gift! - Click Here -Contact us at: Rick@TheLegacyGen.com -Find our video episodes on YouTube   George Washington / Revolutionary War / Continental Army / Tyranny / John Glover / Marbleheaders / Marblehead Mariners / Marblehead Boatmen / US Navy / British / British Regulars / General William Howe / Battle of New York / Battle of Trenton / Throgs Neck / Pell’s Point / Hessians / Delaware River

34 - THE DAY AN ANGEL APPEARED IN THE WHITE HOUSE | Rebecca Pomroy (Army Nurse) | Civil War
Most Americans do not know that Abraham Lincoln, when elected president, went from “apostate to prophet” all in those critical four years of the Civil War.   And helping along his miraculous conversion was a humble, yet highly capable, Army nurse by the name of Rebecca Pomroy.   What she was able to accomplish with the Lincoln Family in the White House that dreadful winter of 1862 changed the course of history.   This is the often-ignored story of the genuine miracle a long-suffering Christian woman offered to Abraham and Mary Lincoln, a miracle “cure” for not only their son Tad, but also Mary and the President himself.   In the process she helped save the American Republic and emancipate America’s slaves, accomplishing what the pundits of the time thought could never be done!   I’m Rick Robison and this is the HEROES FOR FREEDOM Podcast.     **Want more incredible stories like these for your home??** ---> HEROES FOR FREEDOM MANUALS (Volumes 1-3) - Purchase on Amazon!     OTHER EPISODES YOU MAY LIKE: 33 - THE AMERICAN REVOLUTION: THE MOST WORTHY AND JUSTIFIED IN HISTORY | *4th of July Special* 28 - THE AMERICAN MOSES GUIDED BY ANGELS | Harriet Tubman (Abolitionist) | Underground Railroad/Civil War 22 - ALLURING AMERICAN ACTRESS... 33 - THE AMERICAN REVOLUTION: THE MOST WORTHY AND JUSTIFIED IN HISTORY | *4th of July Special*
We have reached a milestone in America’s beloved past. The 249th and 250th year anniversary of this grand experiment in republicanism, in self-government, but mostly in individual freedom.   But, ironically, as of late, we are facing the gravest challenge we have ever faced. And the danger, tragically, is coming from within.   Now is the time to look beyond the propaganda and embrace the true history of American greatness, a nation where our Founders “offered their lives, their fortunes, their sacred honor” in the cause of liberty.   This was a gathering of men and women unlike any in history. I thank the Lord every day that such men and women were willing to step forward at great personal risk.   And as we celebrate 250 years from these sacred events, I hope and pray that we as a nation will be worthy of, and grateful for, their Divinely inspired sacrifice in our behalf.   I’m Rick Robison and this is the HEROES FOR FREEDOM Podcast.   REFERENCES MENTIONED IN EPISODE: https://time.com/6115140/george-iii-americas-last-king-tyrant/ https://www.wfla.com/news/national/gen-z-has-lowest-patriotic-sentiment-in-us-poll-shows/ https://www.dailysignal.com/2023/01/13/why-only-16-of-gen-z-are-proud-to-be-an-american-and-what-we-should-do-about-it/ https://www.historyonthenet.com/founding-fathers https://newenglandhistoricalsociety.com/how-codfish-started-the-american-revolution/ https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Impressment     **Want more incredible stories like these for your home??** ---> HEROES FOR FREEDOM MANUALS (Volumes 1-3) - Purchase on Amazon!     OTHER EPISODES YOU MAY LIKE: 32 - THE PURE SON OF LIBERTY | Thaddeus Kosciuszko (Military Engineer) | Revolutionary War 29 - ROMANCING THE REVOLUTION | Abigail & John Adams | Revolutionary War 10 - DID THEY JUST SIGN THEIR OWN DEATH SENTENCE?? | The Founding Fathers | Revolutionary War   ADDITIONAL RESOURCES: -Join our newsletter and get a free gift! - Click Here -Contact us at: Rick@TheLegacyGen.com -Find our video episodes on YouTube   American Revolution / Founders / Founding Fathers / King George III / Causes of the Revolution / Individual Freedom / Intolerable Acts / Codfish / British Nepotism / Corruption / Lives, Fortune, Sacred Honor / 249-year anniversary / America / The United States
