About Raquel:
Raquel Suarez is a distinguished leader with over two decades of experience spanning continents, including Latin America, Asia, and Europe. She has honed her expertise at prominent multinational corporations such as Citibank and Unilever, (the latter operating in over 190 countries).
Throughout her career, Raquel has been at the forefront of progressive Human Resources thought leadership, driving influential initiatives that shape the future of work worldwide. Notably, she spearheaded the “Open Talent Economy” program at Unilever, which effectively integrated the gig economy into the company’s total talent ecosystem, thereby unlocking untapped potential for business growth. She is a frequent external speaker on the topic and her leadership has played a pivotal role in propelling Unilever to become the top employer of choice in 52 different countries with 17 million followers on LinkedIn.
Most recently, Raquel partnered with Leena Nair – former Global CHRO of Unilever, now the Global CEO of Chanel – serving as the Head of Global HR Strategy, designing and implementing HR practices for approximately 140,000 people.
Today, Raquel is at the helm of Unilever’s innovative career proposition known as “Shape your Own Adventure”. This is a groundbreaking initiative to move careers from the more traditional linear approach to a more “squiggly” career path, empowering individuals to enhance and define their own
