Hear2See Podcast S15 E38 Exodus Chapter 38

HEAR Journaling - Exodus 38

Highlight – Exodus 38:21-25 New Living Translation

Inventory of Materials

21 This is an inventory of the materials used in building the Tabernacle of the Covenant.[h] The Levites compiled the figures, as Moses directed, and Ithamar son of Aaron the priest served as recorder. 22 Bezalel son of Uri, grandson of Hur, of the tribe of Judah, made everything just as the Lord had commanded Moses. 23 He was assisted by Oholiab son of Ahisamach, of the tribe of Dan, a craftsman expert at engraving, designing, and embroidering with blue, purple, and scarlet thread on fine linen cloth. 24 The people brought special offerings of gold totaling 2,193 pounds,[i] as measured by the weight of the sanctuary shekel. This gold was used throughout the Tabernacle. 25 The whole community of Israel gave 7,545 pounds[j] of silver, as measured by the weight of the sanctuary shekel.

Explain – Exodus 38 records the inventory of materials that were used in the construction of the Tabernacle.  Look at the detail and the vast array of materials that were required to build the Tabernacle to God’s specifications.  Look at the people who were involved in the in the construction of the Tabernacle.  Every person from every family from every tribe contributed in some way toward the construction of the Tabernacle.  This expert construction was accomplished by people that had come out of the bondage of Egypt and had physically moved all these materials from Egypt.  God’s anointing was over His people to accomplish this marvelous work.

Apply – God has amazing and wonderful plans for each of us as well.  God does give us our free will to choose which path we will follow. You can doubt and resist Him to accomplish little, or you can place your faith in the Lord, follow Him faithfully and obediently to experience a life that you could not imagine, a life of abundance and joy only possible through a relationship with Him.

Joshua 24:15 ESV And if it is evil in your eyes to serve the Lord, choose this day whom you will serve, whether the gods your fathers served in the region beyond the River, or the gods of the Amorites in whose land you dwell. But as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.”

Jeremiah 29:11 ESV For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.

Deuteronomy 8:18 ESV You shall remember the Lord your God, for it is he who gives you power to get wealth, that he may confirm his covenant that he swore to your fathers, as it is this day.

2 Timothy 3:17 ESV That the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work.

Philippians 4:13 ESV

Psalm 1:1-3 ESV

Proverbs 16:3 ESV

Hebrews 10:36 ESV

1 Kings 2:3 ESV

1 John 2:27 ESV

Respond – Lord, thank You for Your love, mercy, and grace.  Thank You for this opportunity to live with You and in You.  I look so forward to each day and what You will lead me to accomplish. Help me to be effective in the plan You have for my life. I strive to follow You faithfully and obediently, always forever.  I pray that anyone that does not know You will come to a saving revelation and relationship with You, Amen.
