Hear2See Podcast S15 E27 Exodus Chapter 27

HEAR Journaling - Exodus 27

Highlight – Exodus 27:20-21 New Living Translation

Light for the Tabernacle

20 “Command the people of Israel to bring you pure oil of pressed olives for the light, to keep the lamps burning continually. 21 The lampstand will stand in the Tabernacle, in front of the inner curtain that shields the Ark of the Covenant.[g] Aaron and his sons must keep the lamps burning in the Lord’s presence all night. This is a permanent law for the people of Israel, and it must be observed from generation to generation.

Explain – God’s instructed Aaron and his sons to maintain the light stands in the Tabernacle so that the lamps will always be burning pure olive oil.

Apply –   When we accept Jesus as our Lord and Savior our bodies become a temple of the Lord with the indwelling Holy Spirit.  We too must ensure the light continues to burn in our bodily temple, to maintain our faithful and obedient lives as a worship to the Lord who saved us and released us from the bondage of sin.

1 Corinthians 6:19-20 ESV Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. So glorify God in your body.

1 Corinthians 3:16-17 ESV Do you not know that you are God's temple and that God's Spirit dwells in you? If anyone destroys God's temple, God will destroy him. For God's temple is holy, and you are that temple.

Romans 12:1-2 ESV I appeal to you therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship. Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.

2 Corinthians 6:16 ESV What agreement has the temple of God with idols? For we are the temple of the living God; as God said, “I will make my dwelling among them and walk among them, and I will be their God, and they shall be my people.

Romans 8:9 ESV You, however, are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if in fact the Spirit of God dwells in you. Anyone who does not have the Spirit of Christ does not belong to him.

Romans 12:2 ESV Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.

Respond – Lord, thank You for my salvation.  I strive to keep the fire alive in the temple of my body for Your glory.  Thank You for Your wisdom, knowledge, understanding and instruction. I strive to follow You obediently and faithfully in all things.  Help me remain steadfast in my relationship with You.  I pray for any that do not know You, Lord. Amen.
