We’ve talked about Guinness before, in lots of ways, but never as its own subject. Let’s change that and see what there is to learn about them. I’m sure they have never been involved in anything illegal or unethical. What could we possibly talk about? At any rate we will still Have a Drink.
We're trying out some formatting changes to the audio and video versions of the show. Send an email to feedback@haveadrinkshow.com to tell us what you think! The post show for this episode starts at 26 minutes.

What’s this . . Vodka? Gin? Zima? No, it’s time to talk about water. I don’t know how I feel about drinking this. Do you know what fish do in this? Well, at least it’s in bottles, that’s bound to be better, right? Well probably not. We’ll get into that and why this took off like it did. So get ready to hydrate and join us as we Have a Drink

Podfading is defined as to stop podcasting all of a sudden without notice. So sorry about that, but we are back with what I believe Webster defines as “a real humdinger.” We are beginning the story of Bacardi. Do you think you know about this staple of liquor shelves, I’m willing to bet you don’t. So relax as we begin to peel back the layers of this tale, and maybe, Have a Drink.

I think we have forgotten what the show is about. It’s called Have a Drink, not “Have some Eggs . . .” although that does sound tasty. Today we are talking about egg drinks, and no we aren’t drinking raw eggs. Instead we are going to talk about how you can incorporate eggs into your drinks. So grab some nog, or maybe some sort of fizz, and join us as we Have a Drink.

We have been feeling nostalgic lately and revisiting a lot of old topics lately, or at least realizing how much was left out before. So today we say, “I’ll be bock” and revisit that delicious spring beer. Sure, it’s not the season, but Bock season is more of a state of mind anyway. We’ll go over this early beer and figure out why there are so many goats, and, maybe, have a drink.

Today we are talking about drinking. Yes I know, we usually do, but we are going to talk about people who really put their livers in it. We don’t want to glorify over drinking on the show, but honestly, some of these stories are truly insane and deserve to be told. So come along as we tell you some tales, and maybe join us as we, have a drink

So barley, malt, and hops are all the important parts of beer, and they get all the attention, but equally important is water. Yes, it’s two parts hydrogen, one part oxygen, but it’s more complex than that, especially when it comes to brewing. So we’ll see just how water can change what you drink. So stay hydrated today as we Have a Drink.

We return today to sake, to those clear crisp beverages . . . or are we gonna muddy the waters. Well, cloudy them anyway. What makes them so cloudy and how does it change the flavor of sake. We’ll get into that and more as we have a drink on this episode, Sake 2: Nigori Boogaloo.

Today we go deep underground to talk about . . . Oh Carlsberg. . . That makes more sense than an episode about the Carlsbad Caverns. Quick, someone start a new script. We need to talk about this Danish brewery and how they grew to the goliath they are today, and certainly nothing about the captain reef you can find in Carlsbad. So find a pilsner, or maybe a malt liquor and join us as we have a Drink

We are going to talk about some of the best Scotch-style whiskeys in the world, Japanese whiskeys. Have we done some of this before, sure, but we are better now and can ask the hard-hitting questions. Like, does Japan have the peat for this? Apparently so, but do they even use it? Join us as we go through the history of this newer whisky style and if you want to drink along, take out a second mortgage. Either way we are going to have a drink.

It’s time for our new series for the year, and it’s the year of Sake! Yes, we discussed it before, but we are going in deep now and much like Sake brewing, it’s going to take a couple of tries before it’s all done. Today we are going very far into the way-back machine, but we are also discussing one of the variants of sake, Junmai. Get ready for the butchering of Japanese and get ready to Have a Drink. Kampai, Y’all!
