This episode is a little different — it’s just me, sharing the story behind The Habit Nerd.
Back in 2020, like so many of us, I was trying to do it all. Full-time work, parenting two kids, and studying for my doctorate… all during a global pandemic. On the outside I kept going, but inside I was completely overwhelmed.
The turning point came when I finally hit pause. That moment of reflection led me to dig into the research I knew and loved, and to start applying it in my own life. Those evidence-based strategies helped me manage my energy, graduate early from my Doctor of Education program, and most importantly, be more present for my daughters.
Out of that season, The Habit Nerd was born. The framework I now teach, balancing productivity and wellbeing, and focusing on what truly matters, came directly from this experience.
This isn’t just my story, it’s the foundation for why I’m so passionate about helping others build habits that support both their success and their wellbeing.
