Jen Rose: The genius behind Creative Patient's, Me (and IBD) shares her inspiring story | Episode 14

Next up on the GUTSY podcast! 💜We’re joined by the amazing Jen Rose, who has dedicated her life to supporting young patients and families living with inflammatory bowel disease (IBD). Diagnosed with ulcerative colitis at just 10 years old, Jen’s personal journey has shaped her passion for raising awareness of the profound impact of Crohn's & Colitis. 💜

Not only is Jen a mum to a young patient with Crohn’s disease, but she’s also an 'expert by experience' volunteer and patient advocate, working closely with paediatric IBD patients, their families, and healthcare teams. She’s the brilliant mind behind Me (and IBD), a unique colouring journal designed to support young patients through their diagnosis and beyond, as well as many other invaluable patient resources. 💜

Jen works tirelessly alongside the paediatric IBD team at Addenbrooke’s hospital in Cambridge, offering support and vital information to young patients and their families. Together with her partner Seb, she’s helping to create an atmosphere of understanding, engagement, and support within the clinic. 💜

In this episode, Jen shares her personal experiences, insights into her work with young IBD patients, and the importance of creating age-appropriate, engaging materials to guide them through their diagnosis. This is an episode you won’t want to miss – let's dive in! 💜
