On today’s Gut Check Moment of the Week, we revisit my conversation with Tom Jackobs, my own personal business and public-speaking coach. To say that Tom has had a huge impact on the success of my own business (as well as those of countless others) would be an understatement, so I knew going back to some of the knowledge he dropped on this podcast would be fruitful for everyone. Tom shares with me about some of the hardest times he’s had to experience as a business owner, and how investing in coaching and mentorship for himself was the key to making it out alive. Not only did he survive, but Tom talks about the invaluable lesson he learned from experiencing rough patches in his entrepreneurial journey, and why these lessons simply can’t be taught at any school. Lastly, Tom reflects on why he believes that most business owners are afraid to invest in a coach or a mentor, and why he thinks that type of thinking ought to change if any of us hope to be successful.
