104. How Vestibular Group Fit Helped Me Manage VM w/ Elizabeth
“I was making myself nauseous, not knowing it was something else. And that was insanely frustrating.”
As a mom of two, dancer, choreographer, and overall fit and healthy person, Elizabeth was taken aback when she was told she had BPPV.
After years of treating the wrong diagnosis, she finally got the help she really needed. This included joining Vestibular Group Fit. And now? She’s thriving!
Elizabeth volunteered to share her story and today, she joins us on the podcast!
In this episode, we’ll dig into:
What it’s like to live with VM, BPPV, & PPPD
How Elizabeth discovered she had a vestibular disorder
What she did to figure out what to do with this new, scary diagnosis
How Elizabeth went on to get the right diagnosis
What tools have been the most helpful for her navigating vestibular migraine
Why there’s so much confusion and misdiagnosis with vestibular disorders
What Elizabeth keeps in her VM toolkit
The best way to ask for or provide help with vestibular disorders
What Elizabeth notices about life now vs before finding VGF
Future goals she is working toward
Elizabeth being here today and sharing her story is proof that it does get better! As you heard, she has so many wins from being able to communicate her needs to her family and healthcare providers, to having a reliable toolkit that works for her.
Side note: not everything works for everyone—it takes trial and error and time to piece together your most effective toolkit.
People with migraine never fit in a box. You already know this.
And in Vestibular Group Fit, we’re uniquely tuned into this. Which is why we encourage you to make this experience yours. We’d love to be able to support you as you discover what you need to manage your vestibular disorder.👉 Join Vestibular Group Fit (use code GROUNDED)
