Green Tatwa Talks Ep 68 – In conversation with Komal (her artistic life)

Through my conversation on Green Tatwa Talks with Komal, I was deeply moved by her belief that beauty and responsibility can go hand in hand. She doesn’t preach sustainability—she lives it, wears it, and creates it. Whether she’s in her garden, lost in painting, or crafting something out of scraps, she is always in the flow of creating something meaningful.Komal is a reminder that art isn’t just on canvas—it's in how you live, what you choose, and how you transform the ordinary into the extraordinary.

Ep 66 Green Talks - Featuring Smita Mathur, Owner SV Farms

Ep 66 Green Talks - Featuring Smita Mathur, Owner SV FarmsA few years ago, Smita and her husband bought a small piece of land near a grassland, a spot they often visited for birdwatching. Drawn by the natural beauty and the promise of a canal nearby, they made the leap — despite having no background in farming. However, after the purchase, they discovered the land was far from fertile — it was barren, stony, and dry. The "canal" was more myth than reality. What was once a dry, lifeless plot is now a green haven.

Their land is alive with birds, stingless bees that help with pollination, dogs, and even small animals who have started finding shelter among the growing trees and shrubs. Birdwatching is no longer just a weekend hobby — it’s a daily delight from their doorstep.

In this episode of Green Tatwa Talks, I am conversing with Aniket Dhar and Rupankar Banerjee, Founder of Kumbhi Kagaz, The Desh ka Kagaz.

Kumbhi Kagaz was born out of wildlife love. During a snake rescue release mission into the wetlands, they encountered the problem of water hyacinth, which has multiple issues, one being the blockage of the water surface. This blockage prevented them from taking pictures to document the release of the snake. One of the founders, Rupankar Bhattacharjee, developed a prototype during the COVID-19 pandemic. Afterward, the other founder, Aniket Dhar, joined the team, documented their efforts, and shaped it into a business model. They first won the Zero Waste Cities Challenge organized by Waste Aid U.K.
