Ep. 59 Bohemians Football Club & The Spark with Katlyne

This week we talk to Katlyne @ The Spark, an initiative from Bohemian Football Club. Since 1890, they've been more than just a club; they're a fan-owned institution with a legacy of active citizenship and collective collaboration.

They're taking their commitment to the next level by partnering with local businesses, institutions, and community members to foster a cooperative approach to climate action.

Listen in to find out more about their afterschool activities for kids and green skills training for adults. From empowering our community with climate knowledge to bringing environmental education to unexpected places like Mountjoy Prison, they're building bridges and creating real impact.

But that's not all; they're setting up a Library of Things, a Bike Library, repair cafés, and intergenerational dialogues to strengthen ties and inspire action. Tune in to find out more about their exciting community engagement projects.

Ep. 58 Sustainability Communications with Aisling O'Rourke

If you want to reach people outside the sustainability bubble, then this episode of Green Sense is for you! We talk to Aisling O’Rourke of The Communications Coach about your sustainability messaging, especially if you’re a Green Team trying to land your message with the rest of the workforce.

Aisling’s top 3 tips for climate communicating are:

    1. Simplify the message. Often sustainability jargon can put people off.

    2. Lead by example. If you want more people to cycle to work, then show them how.

    3. The Attention Economy. Make your message short and sharp to attract attention.

As Aisling says, ‘We live on a beautiful island and I’d like to keep it that way’.

Listen to the whole episode for more advice on bringing people with you on the journey.

After all, we don't need 8 billion people doing sustainability perfectly, as that doesn’t exist! We need 8 billion people taking action, imperfectly.
