This part 2 of the Cannon Cast.
If you missed part 1 - we discussed the Tobe Hooper film INVADERS FROM MARS (1986) with our special guest Austin Trunick, author of The Cannon Film Guide.
As previously mentioned, our conversation was too large to be contained in one single podcast episode. So we split it in two. This episode we pick up right where we left off and discuss Tobe Hooper’s other two Cannon Films: LIFEFORCE (1985) and THE TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE 2 (1986).
So welcome and enjoy our conversation already in progress.

Welcome to the Cannon Cast: Part 1 - INVADERS FROM MARS.
This episode features special guest Austin Trunick, author of THE CANNON FILM GUIDE.
Our plan was simple. Carve out a little bit of time to discuss Tobe Hooper’s 3 Cannon films -INVADERS FROM MARS (1986), LIFEFORCE (1985), and THE TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE 2 (1986). Though we had a great conversation with Austin about these 3 films, it was a long conversation.
So, we split this episode into two parts. You are listening to part 1. We go through introductions, share a few other films we’ve each watched recently, and spend some time talking about INVADERS FROM MARS.
Enjoy Part 1 of our discussion with Austin and then check out Part 2 which will be released within a day or so of this episode.
OTHER FILMS MENTIONED
MS. 45 (1981), MALIGNANT (2021), TALES FROM THE CRYPT

Previously on the Greatest Movies of All Time Podcast, the Nicolas Cage film PIG was mentioned during opening conversations, though another film was up for discussion that day, Jesse and Gabriel promised to return to discuss PIG more at a later date.
With this episode they fulfill that promise.
Though this breakout episode was originally a Patreon member exclusive, the movie is too good to keep it locked away. So, here it is the PIGcast!
Along the way they talk a bit about the passing of Norm MacDonald and share their October podcast plans for Spooky Movie Month!

THE FIFTH ELEMENT (1997) brought two characters together - one played by Milla Jovovich and the other by Bruce Willis. This episode of The Greatest Movies of All Time, in which we discuss Luc Besson’s 1997 film, has also brought two individuals together. The need to discuss and debate the greatness of this sci-fi adventure has reunited Jesse with a long lost friend - Derrick.
The amount of time between their last conversation is greater than the age of this film; however, the only greatness we are focused on in this episode is in regards to this particular film.
THE FIFTH TIMESTAMPS

The official fantasy film league of The Greatest Movies of All Time Podcast is going into extra innings!
Due to the unpredictable nature of this year’s movie release schedule, a number of films have not been released within their expected time frame. For this episode we will be checking in with the League of the Greats and our league Commissioner has granted a special extension. Those within the League with unreleased films in their draft will be dropping these films and picking up replacement films. This extension is for one month: September 1 - September 30th.
Listen as Jesse, Gabriel, JB, Nicky J, and Lee update their rosters with September hopefuls.
THEN EACH MEMBER OF THE LEAGUE WILL BE GIVEN THE OPPORTUNITY TO EXPAND THEIR ROSTER WITH ONE OCTOBER SURPRISE!
Each member of the League will select an additional movie from the October release calendar to expand their film draft. This will be the final film for each member. At the end of the month the total Rotten Tomato score will be added to each members’ point total. All percentage ratings will be translated to positive points, there will be no negative points.
We are in the final stretch of the 1st season of the League of the Greats! The selections in this episode could change everything we have come to know and expect, it's still anyone's game.
