Recognizing the authority of Christ in our personal lives
Personal resource:
Testimony of Personal Life**: is prioritizing God, it’s rearranging life around Jesus instead of self.
1. Work & Career
Seeking God’s guidance in career choices, not just chasing money or status.
Working honestly and diligently, as though serving the Lord (Colossians 3:23).
Refusing to cut corners or compromise integrity, even if it costs advancement.
2. Family & Relationships
Loving spouse and children sacrificially, following Christ’s model of love.
Honoring parents and showing respect, even when opinions differ.
Choosing relationships (friends, dating, marriage) that align with God’s standards.
Practicing forgiveness instead of holding grudges.
3. Finances & Possessions
Tithing and giving generously as an act of trust in God’s provision.
Avoiding greed, debt traps, or materialism.
Viewing money as a tool for stewardship, not ultimate security.
4. Personal Conduct & Habits
Guarding speech: no gossip, slander, or unwholesome talk.
Choosing purity in thoughts and actions (especially regarding sexuality).
Managing time wisely to prioritize God over distractions.
Caring for the body as God’s temple through rest and healthy habits.
5. Decision-Making
Praying before major decisions (career moves, moves, purchases, relationships).
Seeking counsel from Scripture and mature believers.
Being willing to accept “no” or “wait” from God.
6. Community & Church
Regular worship and fellowship with other believers.
Submitting to godly leadership and participating in accountability.
Serving others through church ministries or acts of mercy.
7. Trials & Suffering
Responding with faith and patience, not bitterness.
Trusting that God uses pain for growth and His purposes.
Praising God even in difficulty (Job 1:21).
8. Public Life & Witness
Living with honesty and integrity in society.
Treating co-workers, neighbors, and strangers with kindness.
Sharing faith when prompted, not hiding belief out of fear.
Practical Daily Submission***
Morning
Prayer & Surrender: Starting the day by thanking God, confessing sins, and asking Him to guide decisions and attitudes.
Scripture Reading: Letting the Word shape perspective before checking phone, news, or to-do list.
Planning with God in Mind: Setting priorities not just for productivity, but for service, integrity, and faithfulness.
Work / School Hours
Integrity in Tasks: Doing assignments or work honestly and diligently, even if no one is watching.
Respect in Relationships: Choosing patience with a difficult coworker, boss, or classmate instead of gossip or irritation.
Prayerful Dependence: Whispering short prayers during stress (“Lord, give me wisdom here” or “Help me stay calm”).
Witness in Conduct: Living with kindness, punctuality, and reliability as a reflection of Christ’s character.
Family / Relationships
Intentional Love: Listening to spouse, children, or friends attentively, not just being distracted or self-focused.
Conflict Submission: Choosing forgiveness and humility instead of clinging to pride or anger.
Encouragement: Speaking words that build up rather than tear down.
Finances & Resources
Wise Stewardship: Avoiding unnecessary purchases if motivated by greed or comparison.
Generosity: Setting aside time or money to help someone in need.
Evening
Reflection: Looking back over the day, asking, “Did I honor God with my thoughts, words, and actions?”
Confession & Rest: Admitting failures and receiving God’s forgiveness (instead of hiding or excusing them).
Gratitude: Thanking God for protection, provision, and opportunities.
Ongoing Submission (Throughout the Day)
Guarding Heart & Mind: Resisting temptation (lust, anger, envy, greed) by recalling Scripture and praying.
Submission in practice is making small daily choices of, “Not my will, but Yours, Lord”
