God protects us from disease, pestilence and terrors. He protects us from harm and temptation if we call on him and trust. When Jesus was being tempted, satan (mis)used this verse (vv 11-12) but Jesus saw the sneaky attack and knew not to test God but to trust instead.

In old age sing of God's righteousness, of hope and praise even when enemies are pressing in. God is righteous!
