In this episode we discuss Demetria's corporate experience before the pandemic. She worked in New York as a Merchandiser for Art Van, a store manager at a dress shop, and finally a merchandiser at Citi Trends. She went over the pros and cons of working corporate, how to get paid what you are worth, and listening to God through the process. During the pandemic she decided to leave her corporate job and continue a profession as an entrepreneur. She is great at what she does. In this episode we discuss conquering the aftermath of trauma. We all go through rough patches in our life. Experiences shapes us all. Demetria and I reviewed a couple of things that can help us get through our tough days. Demetria said that she read the same scripture over and over on her two hour commute to work. Ephesians 6:10- 18 is a passage her grandmother gave her when she was young. She keeps it in her arsenal now and forever. We also emphasized separating emotions and truth, how to face uncertainty, and trusting God throughout the process. While she was in New York she faced uncertainty but trusted God to guide her. The Devil knows us well. He might be one of the most observant things on the planet. He didn't create us so, he doesn't know everything. His limited power uses the weaker parts of us to our disadvantage. One of his common tactics is that he has to get us alone before he starts to lie and manipulate us. He wants his lies and manipulation to lead to death. He will try to kill us. But, if he can't succeed he will try and kill our hopes and dreams. With this knowledge don't let the devil win. Autumn and I read a book called 'Jesus Is ______' by Judah Smith. This book was enlightening on who God is. The Holy Bible is a big book that tells us stories about the good news of Jesus. Why does good news have to be sad. Gods intent was to make is a joyous occasion. That joy should lead to happiness for all of the world. God is Holy. He literally created it. He sent Jesus to die on the cross to pay for our sins as a precautions for those that can't be perfect like him, aka everyone on the planet. Accepting that Jesus died on the cross and paid for our sins secures your holiness. That's covered. Happiness is harder to obtain in a broken world.
