Following Jesus isn’t cheap. It’s not about comfort, convenience, or fitting Him into the margins of our lives. In this episode, we dive into what Jesus really meant when He said, “If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow me” (Luke 9:23). The cross was never a symbol of ease — it was a call to die.
We’ll look at how the early church lived this out, what it means for us today, and the hard but necessary question: what is it actually costing me to follow Jesus? Because discipleship will always cost something, but not following Him will cost everything.
Jeremiah 29:11 is one of the most quoted Bible verses, often seen as a personal promise from God—but what if it was meant for more than just you? In today’s episode, we explore the true context of this powerful verse and discover how God’s message was originally spoken to a community, not just an individual. We’ll take a look at the difference between “you” and “y’all,” dive into the beauty of God’s collective promises, and reflect on how this shifts the way we read Scripture and live it out.
This episode is a reminder that God’s plan isn’t just about me, it’s about us. So let’s walk together in the purpose He’s laid out for all of us.
Be sure to follow the God Is Awesome Podcast and share this episode with someone who needs to hear that God’s promises include everyone. And remember—God is awesome!
Hey everyone, it’s Michael, welcome to the God Is Awesome Podcast. Today we’re talking about those hard moments when it feels like God is silent. If you’ve ever prayed and felt like nothing’s happening, this one’s for you. Let’s talk about what to do when God seems quiet, but is still working.
Happy Easter, everyone!
Today, we’re celebrating the most powerful event in all of history—the resurrection of Jesus Christ. This isn’t just a nice story or a yearly tradition—it’s the moment that changed everything. Jesus didn’t just die on the cross for our sins; He rose from the dead, proving once and for all that He has power over sin, over fear, and even over death itself.
When the stone was rolled away from the tomb, it wasn’t just to let Jesus out—it was to let us in so we could see for ourselves that He is alive. Death thought it had won, but Jesus flipped the script. The enemy was defeated, and hope was reborn.
Because Jesus beat death, we can live with the confidence that our struggles, our pain, and even our failures don’t have the final say. Life wins. Love wins. Jesus wins.
So today, let’s celebrate the victory that Jesus won for us—giving us eternal life, unshakable hope, and a reason to rejoice daily.
