David and The Jimmy go deep on what David believes he's discovered in Europe, the behaviors, tenacity and spirit of the founders of the United States. Apparently it is alive and well in Europe as it has been for centuries, but the same can't be said for those in the states, it's gotten diluted, relaxed, entitled, and the further west you go, the worse it is. .
David and The Jimmy, major music buffs get lost in the opening music and homage to Eddie Money and almost forget to talk about the Earthquake David experienced in Croatia generating a strong sense of gratitude.
David and The Jimmy discuss a number of topics but the main one is out of no where... the World Cup. Being in Europe, roaming around, David has managed to somehow have chosen World Cup central being in Croatia and it sounds like he's been bitten by the bug. No big dumb hats, long loud scarves or face paint... yet, but he certainly talks like he knows what's up. Let's see how off he is in the days to come. No one is holding their breath!
Michelle is away on vacay so David invited a special celebrity guest to co-host for a few episodes. This is where y'all get to meet "the Jimmy". David and the Jimmy discuss the song and video that David produced in his down time between hammering out chapters for his new book. Which, for your viewing and listening pleasure is right there: https://youtu.be/e-vMwEeQk3g The twosome, citing the sentiment of the song, did not squander the opportunity to remind everyone that this holiday season is not always bright, cheery and warm for everyone. In Jimmy's debut, he does a great job with the homework.
Michelle and David recount a recent humbling experience in attempting to navigate the public transit system of a foreign country. Despite performing what he felt was enough due diligence, it became clear early on that it simply wasn't enough. Fortunately for him and for the listeners, David has the uncanny ability to laugh at his failures. Laugh along today. Oh, and if you are looking to visit Croatia, check out his channel.... https://www.youtube.com/@RoyalCroatianTours
Forever evaluating and upgrading, David has an unusual epiphany after what seemed to be an obvious lead up. Michelle points out what she is seeing and more reveals are given on David's journey. Real change is most definitely on tap, grab a mug and join the duo.
Continuing on his monastery hopping tour, looking for peace, inspiration and healing, he goes for the big dog, Medjugorje in reasonably close by Bosnia. Of course, if things went to plan, there wouldn't be a podcast. Grab some popcorn and rosary beads, this is a shit show.
With a title that has a triple meaning, David shares his "off season" experiences. Living in Dubrovnik after the tourists have all gone home, effectively shutting down the town, his own personal struggles with a temporary case of intense writer's block and an unexpected reveal that will shock most of his listeners. Michele shows everyone just how observant she is an how intuition can be an incredible gift. David shares his latest video: Winter Festival in Dubrovnik, it's worth a watch - and it's one click away.... https://youtu.be/0OR8ZI26jRs
Michelle and David discuss the value in self-talking. They give a number of tips, spoiler alert, the keys are; bravery, belief, becoming available to yourself and honesty.
Down the rabbit hole they both go with T.S. Eliot. David spends significant time ruminating over what he considers to be one of the most brilliant quotes of all time, which, not surprisingly, aligns with Michelle and David's message through the Red Kite Movement. Michelle travels along and divulges that of the 618 episodes, this is her favorite. Strong words. Listen today to hear why she sincerely feels this.
Michelle congratulates David and showers him with accolades for his recent quantity and quality of his work. Producing 8 chapters in less than a month, he's on a roll. But is it any good? Listen today for Michelle's completely impartial feedback and then, take her 24-hour homework challenge. This time of year can present a challenge for many. Do yourself and those around you a favor and take the challenge.
The bigger question is, what did you expect? This is less of a story of dog bites man than man bites dog. Feeling like just a continuation of the day prior, David is dumbfounded with the scams and greed that happen during the holidays. Met with less than wonderful and lasting final impression of Italy, he is frustrated by how current laws open the door to allowing companies to treat their customers like shit. A strong warning to avoid Ryanair.
Practice what you preach on this day of inspiration! David has a series of follies where absolutely zero went to plan on his seemingly simple itinerary. And, when backed into a corner, the claws came out and he not only didn't put up with the bullshit like most everyone else would, he took action and overcame every single hurdle in style. As you listen, ask yourself, what would you have done? And, how would you have felt about yourself after? Michelle supports this concept as part of the homework today.
In Parma, David took his new girl out in the rain to perform at Verdi's tribute museum. The perfect moment was presented to him on a silver platter and he completely choked. After listening to the episode, click on this link for a complete understanding: https://youtu.be/OOhLs6oDvT0
What does David have to do to escape America? It just seems to keep following him relentlessly. On his way out of Italy, David stops in Parma as an unexpected side-trip making his way back to Milan to be closer to the airport. As the bells of the adjacent church rocked him out of bed the following morning, he couldn't believe his eyes. Was this Parma or Manhattan? Michelle offers a very serious homework assignment related to David's discovery that everyone should commit to.
David has a sobering moment as he discovers his new love's one flaw. Will he overlook and overcome? Or will this be the deal-breaker? Michelle points out that a major reason why people engage with one another is over the offering of something alluring and tangibly different. David takes us along his journey hiking shear cliff trails in Cinque Terre. As usual, his experience was heightened by an unexpected and fittingly unusual characteristic innate to him, elevating the risk factor of an already risky adventure.
On this day dedicated to creating remarkable memories, David is in the thick of it. And, while just being in Cinque Terre will undoubtedly do the trick, he does what he does best, he consciously manifests ones where the average person may not. A key element of this process is understanding that any exceptional event, will be the building block for a remarkable memory. To most, it's not completely understood that "exceptional" simply means one standard deviation from the mean - which often means that the event may be construed as negative at the time, but later will be embraced and recalled with fond affection. Translated: There is no such thing as a "bad memory" in this paradigm, labels are for shrinks and have no place in our Red Kite sanctuary.
Well, that's an odd gift of the day, no? Of course, David has a great explanation of the meaning and the dots that he's connected in his travels and with those he has met along his path. While he has bonded with many, the depth of the bond between he and his new friend stands out. Michelle's homework is incredibly important and will likely resonate with everyone - the cliche "we've all done it" applies here. Let's just stop doing it, is her battlecry. Find out what it is by pressing play.
Oh boy, blasphemy has been spoken by the duo which could wind them up in an Italian prison. While discussing the wonderful feeling of differences between Italy and America, mainly on the topic of transportation, however, an iconic food comes up and you won't believe your ears. Take cover if you're standing next to either of them!
David just won't shut up about his experience in Tuscany. Hot on the heels of his blissful experiences in Milan, he doubles down and reveals that while his heart is still beating for Dubrovnik and Milan, it is now shared with Monte San Savino. Michelle's homework is a major homerun. After he describes the property he's scouting, does anyone get the sense that David is not coming back to the states?
