!!!!!!!TRIGGER WARNING!!!!!!!!
THIS EPISODE DISCUSSES A DARK FILM WHICH DEPCITS UNALIVING AND RELIGIOUS TRAUMA
In this episode, we discuss this winter-based horror filled with dread, 2019's the Lodge, directed by Veronika Franz and Severin Fiala. It stars Riley Keough, Jaeden Martell, Lia McHough, Richard Armitage, and Alicia Silverstone.
In this film, we follow children Aiden (Jaeden) and Mia (Lia) as they are forced to spend Christmas at their family's lodge with their father and his new girlfriend, Grace (Riley). After their father Richard (...Richard) leaves to attend to a work matter, the three of them are left to attempt to form a relationship, though the children blame Grace for why their parents aren't together. Tensions are high, but they rise even higher as the trio are put through a bitter cold hell where they may be in Purgatory. Is it all in their heads? Is there a malevolent force at play? Did I use the term "malevolent" correctly?
