About Amanda Wick


Amanda Wick served as a federal prosecutor for the US Department of Justice (DOJ) for nearly a decade, specializing in money laundering and cryptocurrency. She worked in three US attorneys’ offices (Atlanta, Birmingham, and St. Louis). After that, she moved to Main Justice to serve in the Criminal Division’s Money Laundering and Asset Recovery Session. As part of a DOJ leadership program, she served as a detailee and senior policy advisor at the Financial Crimes Enforcement Network (FinCEN). In 2020, she left the government to serve as the chief of legal affairs at Chainalysis, a blockchain analytics company.

In 2021, Wick returned to government service as the lead financial investigator for the House Select Committee to Investigate the January 6th Attack on the US Capitol. She went on to found and run a global non-profit organization, the Association for Women In Cryptocurrency. The organization aims to build a global network of women and male allies in the cryptocurrency, blockchain, and web3 industries who will advocate for the equal inclusion of women in the future of digital finance.

Wick also serves as a principal with Incite Consulting. In that role, she provides expert and litigation advisory services to law firms and advises a wide range of cryptocurrency-related businesses. She remains a digital nomad living out of a carry-on suitcase and a National Geographic backpack. The Catalysts is her first book.

Rev. Dr. Patrick (John) Ramsey is a priest-monk serving in the UK in a diocese of the Patriarchate of Antioch. He serves a small parish located in Norfolk in England. He is also an online tutor for the Institute for Orthodox Christian Studies in Cambridge, England. Originally from New Zealand, he’s been an Orthodox Christian since 1996, a monk from 2006, and a priest since 2010. He has degrees in Mathematics, Law and Theology and he’s published books on the Minor Clergy of the Orthodox Church (MTh dissertation) and on the Church (PhD dissertation).

Demick grew up in New Jersey and graduated from Yale College Her work has won many awards including the Samuel Johnson prize (now the Baillie Gifford prize) for non-fiction in the U.K., the Overseas Press Club’s human rights reporting award, the Polk Award and the Robert F. Kennedy award and Stanford University’s Shorenstein Award for Asia coverage. Her North Korea book was a finalist for the National Book Award and the National Book Critics Circle Award. She was a press fellow at the Council on Foreign Relations, a Bagehot fellow in business journalism at Columbia University and a visiting professor of journalism at Princeton University.  She lives in New York City.

Darren Grimes spent his formative years raised by his mother in Northern Ontario Canada. Darren spent his early adulthood working in the steel industry, eventually landing him in Calgary Alberta. During this time Darren and friend Graham Dunlop started The Grimerica Podcast, an interview podcast about all the things they and their podcast community find interesting in the world, which helped lead him to many, many rabbit holes. Today Darren raises two young daughters in Alberta, Canada, working as a podcast host, author and entrepreneur. Darren spends a lot of time with his family and hunting and fishing.. His skeptical approach to the phenomena investigated on The Grimerica Show is tempered by his libertarian leanings, though this combination frequently leads him to crush the dreams of anyone looking for a high-rated synchronicity.

Working in high steel construction has given him the privilege of having a bird’s-eye perspective on a variety of subject matter, both literally and figuratively. His avoidance of cameras has nothing to do with paranoia, taking his picture will, very literally, steal his soul. Someday, Darren hopes to bust a few caps in Sasquatch, while he has more than a few caps swirling around in his own head. He is not as clean and sober as Graham.

Graham’s primary passions are podcasting, researching, and helping others. Obsessed with learning and self-improvement, Graham and Darren started The Grimerica Podcast in 2013. Their show has continued to grow into a sizable and loving community. Most recently he’s pursued a spin-off podcast, Grimerica Outlawed, and has narrated various audiobooks.

A fast-paced life of corporate ladder climbing and competitive sports eventually took its toll, and Graham got completely clean and sober in 2008. Every year since then has been an escalating pursuit into the esoteric, occult, and spiritual arenas. Somewhere along the way he found time to travel around the world, become a Reiki master, get certified in Addiction Studies, facilitate Buddhist meditative recovery meetings, coach hockey, and lead numerous CE-5 expeditions (Close Encounters of the Fifth Kind). His journey has been one of achievement and compassion.
